Check in was late at 2pm, and hotel wanted £30 for earlier check in which is extortion, so this caused inconvenience as we were attending a wedding locally. Breakfast was £16.50 and self service, which again we didnt bother due to price. All in all hotels now generallly are overcharging at any opportunity, and if customers continue to accept these unjustified charges it will continue. Room was small and bit rundown, not great stay at all, go elswhere if you can.

We stayed two nights and had no hot water for the whole stay despite reporting this on first night. We were told to run the taps for fifteen to twenty minutes. Still no luck and what a waste of water! So much for their claims of being environmentally friendly! Manager offered to refund half of one night only. Pathetic offer. When you book a room, hot water for showering or bathing or for just washing hands is surely a basic requirement. Hotel badly in need of updating outside and in corridors and car park is atrocious with little or no lighting in places and very many potholes.

Low expectations when driving into the hotel as the carpark surface was full of potholes and the exterior of the hotel was very tatty, tired and in need of repair. Pleasantly surprised when entering reception. The hotel has been updated and is modern and clean. Rooms have also been refurbished and are up to date.

Great convenient location. Clean and well equipped room. Good leisure facilities. Organisation could be improved - asked for a cot to be provided at booking, again prior to arrival, and on arrival and assured it would be in room. Not present and had to wait for staff to find it. Watch out for large pot holes in the car park!
