The surrounding area offers plenty of variety. Rent an old Citroën 2CV from the homeowner for an unforgettable drive through the beautiful countryside. Discover various idyllic places in the Vechtdal region such as Ommen, Arriën and Beerze. Paddle a canoe on the Spelt River, visit the picturesque town of Ootmarsum (26 km) or take a walk through the open moorland in De Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park (34 km). There are several amusement parks in the area, including Slagharen Park (15 km), Hellendoorn Adventure Park (27 km) and WILDLANDS Adventure Zoo Emmen (40 km). The cozy city of Enschede (45 km) is recommended for a day trip because of its strikingly large selection of stores, restaurants and bars. Just on the border with Germany you will find the fascinating nature reserve Itterbecker Heide (10 km) and the historic town of Lingen (54 km).
