A mere 10 minutes away is the vibrant town of Tatamagouche, bustling with amenities such as a grocery store, pharmacy, craft breweries, restaurants, and locally owned shops. Explore the walking and cycling trails or visit the arts centre, which hosts events and performances regularly throughout the summer. Don't miss the second-largest Oktoberfest in Canada, hosted by The Bavarian Society of Tatamagouche on the last weekend of September.
The Northumberland Strait boasts some of the most beautiful beaches on Canada's East Coast. You can visit the warmest beaches north of the Carolinas in less than an hour's drive. Rushton's Beach Provincial Park (11 minutes), Blue Sea Beach Provincial Park (32 minutes), Waterside Beach Provincial Park (35 minutes), Caribou/ Munoes Island (44 minutes), and Melmerby (1 hour).
For those with a thirst for adventure and history, Tatamagouche has plenty to offer. Visit the Tatamagouche Creamery Square, home to The North Shore Archives, The Sunrise Trail Museum, the Brule Fossil Centre, and the Giantess Anna Swan Museum. Experience the Train Station Inn, a 19th-century station where you can enjoy a locally roasted coffee, sample local craft beer and mead, and catch a performance on the railway platform (2-3 nights a week during the summer).
