My husband & I travel somewhere once a month, and I read hotels reviews before staying places.I saw that this property had some poor reviews, but there was a lot of people that left excellent reviews, so I decided for us to stay, plus the Ocean Inn website also had photos that looked really nice as well. After arriving at the Ocean Inn and getting into our premium room, I was relieved that I had booked only one night! The exterior of the hotel was in poor condition and looked like it had not been painted in many, many years! The wrought iron and wood balcony area had some old rotted wooden pieces that had come off!The chairs and couch were very worn and one had a rip in it! The interior of our room had a horrible musty odor which gave me a headache, so we kept the balcony doors open most of the time & even sprayed some cologne and the odor still didn’t go away! I was so embarrassed that I had booked a place like this for us to stay!It is shocking that this property has been in this condition for so many years! Hotel managers always seem to have an excuse when they receive poor customer reviews and say that they plan on addressing the complaints to make things better at their hotel, yet most of the time they don’t! Unfortunately it seems most hotels never disclose that they are having renovations or construction in the area going on, and they wait to surprise you with that when you check in, so they don’t lose out on any money from people not wanting to stay at their property!
