Splendor on the Marsh
Beautiful setting with very interesting and well thought out accommodations. We slept 3 couples in Hatcher and entertained twelve easily. Lots of areas for various sized groups to mingle and re-mingle plus spaces to get away on your own for a bit. The pool and pool area were very nice but a little chilly to enjoy except for a few 'polar bears'. Handsome boardwalks and docks let you get up close in the marsh on walks. The game pavilion was a plus as well.

We are repeat guests at the Hatcher House. This is an elegant farmhouse steeped in history. We love the solitude and natural beauty of this place! The house is very well equipped with high end touches and beautiful outdoor porches. John is a pleasure to work with! The pool and pool house that have recently been added are beautiful and only increase the appeal. We plan to return as often as we can!

Birthday Getaway
We rented the Hatcher House for a long weekend getaway to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The house and overall property were amazing and we had a great time. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything you could need. The new pool was next to the house and just steps away. Everyone we encountered in town and on the property was very friendly. The farm would be a great place to host a large family event or wedding. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Fabulous accommodations in a breathtaking environment
My friends traveled from all over to celebrate my 45th birthday and we LOVED this house! The soaker tub on the screened-in porch was EVERYTHING. Extremely well-appointed with lovely bath products, fishing poles, even crab traps. I can't wait to come back with my family to again gaze upon the sea of seagrass and more stars than I've seen in decades.

This place is awesome and so is the property manager John. We spent a week there and had a great time. Very secluded with all the comforts of home. Spectacular views and access to the river. Highly recommended if you're looking for a place to get away from it all and get the ultimate in relaxation.

Beautiful View, Relaxed Elegance
The property was easy to book with clear communications from property manager. We encountered no issues and did not have to make the typical inquiries upon checking in - everything is thought of in advance and ready for guests. The house is beautifully restored and updated. The views are beautiful - serene and peaceful. We loved the birds and other wildlife - have never seen so many egrets at one time. We had 3 college aged sons with us and they enjoyed the trip. They golfed a different course on 3 days - many great choices within easy driving distance. We cooked dinner in the well equipped kitchen and there were nearby options for dining and takeout and a couple of good grocery stores. We hope to return. Have no suggestions for improvement - in addition to the view and generous space, the house is spotlessly clean with plentiful upscale linens. We loved the breezeway room. There is also a beautiful screened in porch with recliners for reading and the marsh side porch has rocking chairs and fans. We spent the early evening hours on the porch and saw an amazing sunrise each day over the marsh. We traveled to St Simons Island to the WWII Museum and Lighthouse one day and also saw the nearby Fort King George to learn more about the area's history. Laundry area and closet space are very updated and generous. Would hope to return.

Even Better than Advertised!
In an era that's inundated with photoshopped imagery, virtually any property can claim to be "luxury" online, without actually earning that label. This was most certainly NOT the case with Emma's Driftwood Farm...in fact, this property not only met the standards it outlined on VRBO, it far exceeded them! Our family has been fortunate to travel to numerous locations around the world, yet this little slice of Heaven in Southern Georgia stands strong as one of our favorite family destinations of all time. After a 6+ hour drive navigating Atlanta's crazy traffic, we were instantly mesmerized by the property's entrance; the private, gated entrance, covered by Spanish moss trees, led us down a windy path to the Hatcher House, our ultimate destination. We pulled in at sunset, and the views of the marsh literally took our breath away. Upon entering the home, everything we admired online came to life... only in an even better form. Little details that may be lost by other "luxury" rentals were not missed here; elegant hand soaps at every single sink; fluffy towels, high-end sheets, pillows and linens, night lights, high-end furnishings, a smores box, bug spray, sunscreen, fishing equipment, not to mention a handwritten note with property swag, a bottle of wine, a delicious charcuterie board, treats for our dogs, etc. The views were breathtaking and every moment was cherished by our family; from a sunset marsh cruise to s'mores in the fire pit; from day trips to Jekyll and St. Simons Island to family dinners in the house; from visits to the dock to see what landed in our crab traps to a touching phone call from John, the property manager, after we departed, every single aspect of our visit was first-class. We enjoyed the new local grocery store, chatting with locals, dining in Darien to support local restaurants and taking in the history of Fort King George in Darien. Only five star are allowed on VRBO but, if given the chance, this property deserves ten. After a handful of VRBO "flubs" with very hefty price tags, Emma's Driftwood Farm has restored our faith in online luxury rentals. The combination of their extraordinary attention to detail, coupled with their authentic Southern hospitality made this a vacation one we will cherish forever and ever!

Absolutely Perfect
Our vacation stay was absolutely perfect, just a little too short! The property is beautiful and serene. My husband and I took my parents, our two (younger) children, and our dog for a quick, peaceful weekend getaway and I could not have asked for more. The house is finished with quality touches, the views leave nothing to be desired, and we were able to truly relax, which was the goal. I read all of the reviews (which were all five stars) so my expectations were set high but I can honestly say those reviews were 100% accurate and I was not even slightly disappointed. We'll definitely be booking another (longer) trip soon!

Couples Weekend
We had a great time at the Hatcher House at Emma's Driftwood Farm. The house itself is one of the most interesting places I've ever stayed. It's rustic and interesting, but clean, modern, and updated where it counts. The Master suite and bath are amazing and the view can't be beat. We came with 3 couples and our boat and found the accommodations to be above and beyond our expectations. Necessities are provided, as well as dock access, fishing tackle and beautifully maintained grounds. The property manager was friendly and helpful every step of the way. Highly recommended.

A tucked away slice of paradise
My husband and I decided to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary at the Hatcher House with our two children, and I am so thankful that we did!! A tucked away slice of paradise. We arrived to find an incredibly beautiful farmhouse with a charcuterie board and bottle of champagne waiting on us. The home is superbly renovated with luxurious furniture and bedding. We slept soundly amongst the natural setting. Our children wanted to fish from sunrise to sunset. In the evenings, we’d cook delicious seafood in the well appointed kitchen stocked with essentials. The day before we arrived we stayed in Savannah, so gathered lots of fresh produce, seafood, and baked goods after reading the reviews. There is a small grocery store in Darian. We took a tour in Savannah and our guide spoke of The Real McCoy—we were beyond excited to learn that we were sleeping right beside the Real McCoy’s hideout. We also loved that the movie Gemini Man was filmed there. They left a copy that our family enjoyed watching the first night in the very room where a beginning scene was filmed. The side porch bathtub made bath-time very easy—I’m pretty sure my children bathed twice daily while we were there. The have a gorgeous outdoor fire pit and leave the cutest s’more box. They have a grill, corn hole, horseshoe, and rods/reels for your use. They were also so sweet to leave us some Emma’s Farm swag that we’ve enjoyed sporting! We can’t wait to go back, already planning our next trip! John, Treva, and the rest of the staff were beyond helpful!! Thank you for allowing us to stay in this special place!
