About this property

Restful Country Charm, World Renowned Antiquing, Concerts and Shakesperean Plays

The Kottage has been loving restored with touches of days gone by including wood from the original German settlers house. It has a comfortable front porch and rocking chairs to view the countryside. A full kitchen, dining room and a living room greet our guests as they enter. We have WiFi available and modern conveniences in our country home. The Kottage has 2 bathroom and 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed. There is also an additional room called the Texas Room that can be added when you require more than the two queen beds in the main house. The Texas Room has a full kitchen, a half bath, a queen bed and two singles. Anytime you need this extra space ( it will be an additional charge above the Kottage cost(4 guests).
There is a picnic area that occupies the original home site of the German settlers that lived here in the 1800's.

The Kottage overlooks a native prairie in restoration with
many species of birds that can be seen as we sit astride a major Texas flyway.

You can also watch for the herd of deer that call this area home.

Take a stroll down to the pond and see the waterfowl that frequent this riparian area, or around the 26 acres to see the many types of Texas native grasses and wildflowers that inhabit the prairie.

Enjoy the sunrises and sunsets as well as the clear view in the night sky, along with the evening sounds that occur only in the country.

A gem near Winedale!
We had the pleasure of staying several nights with the Kottages at Winedale and we will absolutely be back! It is the perfect location for parents/family of students participating in Shakespeare at Winedale, as it’s less than a minutes from the barn! The home is beautiful inside and out- updated and appointed gorgeously in bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen alike. We had the house and Texas room for 8 people and did not feel cramped one bit! Beds were super comfortable, bathrooms easy to use and plentiful for our group. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen and plenty of dishes at hand for use, as well as pots and pans. The refrigerator and microwave were spotless, and worked perfectly (there was a second kitchen we had through our rental in the Texas room as well, and we used both to some extent, everything in working order and very clean). Our hosts brought breakfast to us both mornings, and not only was it included, it was DELICIOUS! They were careful to mind any dietary restrictions for our group, and were great in communicating drop-off of dishes. The owners are delightful folks, wonderful to visit with, clear and quick communicators, and great caretakers of this beautiful property. Recycling and composting are both used onsite, which was wonderful to see! We can’t wait to go back!

Excellent Stay!!
A diamond in the rough… We were not visiting the area for the Round Top antique shopping but instead, we were in the area for the George Strait concert in College Station. We are thankful this was the closest place with availability because it was absolutely splendid. My husband and I loved it and our guests loved it as well. Their first experience at a B&B and now they are spoiled. We will be back for sure!!

Peaceful spot
Peaceful home outside Roundtop that we enjoyed for a few days while attending the antique show . We were a group of 8 ladies and enjoyed the space with the extra Texas room and 1/2 bath . Breakfast is provided and was an excellent coffee cake the first morning , the 2nd day was a hot casserole that was covered with some sort of chili powder so we did not enjoy that. Other than that the stay was wonderful and the house was very clean !

We enjoyed our stay!
The house was clean, comfortable and pleasant. The breakfast was food both days. The view is so beautiful, especially in the spring! The only part that was just a little bit inconvenient was the checkin. We are accustomed to a “self checkin” approach. That way we are not keeping anyone waiting if we run late. Overall, the accommodations and host were wonderful!

Cute little country getaway minutes from Round Top
Me and my girlfriends stayed here for Antiques Week and had a great time. Eric and Deborah were very communicative the entire time. This was a great little find just outside of Round Top set on a quiet little piece of land, yet literally six minutes from Round Top square. They made us fresh breakfast every morning. The Cowboy Coffee Cake was awesome! The house was clean and charming. There are two bedrooms and then a little add-on space (which May have been a garage at one point) through the second bathroom that had an open concept with another kitchen and more beds. You could also access the ad on from outside. The porch was excellent for relaxing! We were able to feed the cows and took a short little walk down to the pond to feed the catfish.
