I absolutely loved our stay! It was very comfortable and felt like home. The only thing I could not figure out was the heater/towel rack in the bathroom was not turning on. There was fresh milk in the fridge for coffee or tea (both were provided with sugar) and biscuits (cookies). The kitchen was stocked with plates, pots and pans, utensils, everything we needed to prepare and eat a meal. Each room has its own bathroom, which is great when you have teenagers. The beds were very comfortable. We will definitely stay again the next time we visit!

Spacious and comfortable
We staid in the Holm Oak Barn, this is a very roomy place. The bedrooms are quite large and have a plenty of root to maneuver around. There’s a bathtub in one room, a standing shower in another and a handicap bathroom in the master bedroom. The beds are comfortable and pleasant to sleep in. The kitchen has all the pots & pans you would need, with plenty of utensils. The location is certainly located to a few towns and makes it easy to run out for food and groceries. We had a few improvements suggestions: there were dead bugs on the counter and floor, the furniture is dated and well worn, the bench on the patio wasn’t usable due dry wood and spiders.

Can’t wait to book again!
This place is fabulous, I had Curlew Cottage for a few nights in January and I will definitely use it again.
It’s very cheap for what you get and the facilities include a large bathroom, a great kitchen, a large comfy sitting room and two bedrooms.
The lady running the show is also very friendly so get booking now!
It’s very rural and quiet but I didn’t get chance to walk around the lakes as the weather wasn’t great.
This is my fourth or fifth visit. Everything was great as usual.
My daughter who’s a bit of a chef Found the cooker and the cooking utensils a bit of a challenge - The oven needs looking at I think.
Thanks for being the same, reliable !
Lovely stay for us. Great to be able to book a nice holiday cottage for non routine dates rather than the usual Saturday to Saturday or Friday to Friday only. We stayed Saturday to Tuesday which was perfect for us. A very spacious cottage. Rustic rather than modern but clean, tidy and lots to do inside and out. Will definitely go back.

Overall lovely settings, few niggles
Overall it's a lovely property, let down by the cleanliness on arrival. Emergency no. we were given was not picked up.
So there were many dead flies (some squashed on blinds), clearly not hoovered (chocolate button, crumbs and flies on the floor)
Also more worrying, a tablet left on the bedroom dressing table on dish. Thankfully we didn't have children with us!
We sent an email on Saturday as no answer on phone, the reply came Sunday evening, saying house keeper would resolve Monday, no real attempt made, someone did come on Thursday even though we said pointless as leaving Friday.
Allegedly enhanced cleaning for Covid and hence late check in's - hmmm really??
Soured the stay

A relaxing place to enjoy natural surroundings.
We enjoyed a lovely short break (4 nights) at Lackford Lakes Barns, wonderfully located adjacent to a nature reserve and close to the amenities of Bury St Edmunds (about 5 miles away). The cottage was very well equipped but was showing a few signs of wear and tear.

Lovely weekend break
We stayed in Curlew Cortage for the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very relaxing and quiet just what we needed. The cottage was superb ideally located.
Would definitely recommend and will go back.
We stayed in Holm Oak Barn. First impressions of the property was the lovely courtyard leading to all the Barns and plenty of parking spaces for all the Barns.
Holm Oak Barn was lovely. There was a nice welcome pack on entering the Barn. This was very nice after a long journey.
The Barn had everything needed for a holiday break. Plenty of utensils for cooking (if needed),3 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, comfy beds and tv with freesat. The property also had underfloor heating.
There is a nature reserve adjacent to the Barns so the views were lovely.
A lovely place to stay.
We really enjoyed our stay.
We will be back.Thank you.

Loads of space and very clean
Well cottage was lovely, loads of space and very clean and new. Loads of nice little touches like fresh milk and a pack of biscuits on arrival.
