Nice location but major damp issues
We arrived to find the floors wet and the kitchen worktops were dirty along with most of the floor. The property was very cold and there was water running down one of the bedroom walls upstairs with major damp issues. We were meant to stay for three nights but decided after 2 we needed to leave and booked in somewhere else due to the condition and damp. Such a shame as the location is lovely.
We loved staying here - the cottage and the pub are in a tiny cluster of buildings on a quiet road in a beautiful valley - and you wake up to a lovely view across the valley. It's an old cottage, with everything that comes with that - thick walls, a narrow, fairly steep staircase etc, and not 'luxury' throughout in terms of finishes, but full of character, and tastefully decorated, especially in the bedrooms. It was warmer upstairs than downstairs but there's an extra electric heater, and a log fire you can get going downstairs to keep you cosy. The pub next door has a super friendly landlord and landlady and does generous portions of well cooked food.
