"We had a wonderful stay in this lovely spacious and comfortable house with the most spectacular views. I knew to expect great views from the photos and reviews but it is even more amazing in real life. We just stared out the window for the first few hours (lol), looking across the bay at the mountains stretching out for miles and watching the little birds fly up the window. Martin was a great host right from our initial communication and he gave us lots of tips, local knowledge and places to visit that we might not have found in a guide book. We had 2 teenagers who enjoyed the fact that there was lots of space and different rooms to relax in. One of the boys also enjoyed the football pitch and climbing/exploring the mountain to the back of the house. The house is well equipped and we liked the clarity around recycling and the simple processes in place. The beds were clean and comfortable and it was nice to light the fire on some of the cooler nights we had. The lane up to the house is a journey in itself - but a wonderful journey and you do get used to it - you do also get rewarded when you spot a family of deer or a bird of prey and you can stop to buy fresh eggs from the honesty box on the way up. It really is a wonderful setting and if you enjoy nature and solitude and don't mind being a bit remote this is the place for you. We would love to return, and our dog would too - very dog friendly!"
