From beginning to end, our stay at Chateau De Vie was magical. While it is close to downtown Calistoga, it is just enough far away that is feels like another world. We stayed in the King Carriage House which overlooks vineyards and has its own courtyard and patio furniture. Nelva greeted us with a glass of wine, gave us a quick tour, and we were served a tasty array of meat and cheeses as we swam in the pool on a rather hot day. Coffee delivered in the morning to our room was the perfect way to start the day, and Nelva served up fantastic breakfasts each day we were there. There was only one other couple while we were there, so the grounds were quiet. There are plenty of places to sit, sip, and relax. The Chateau is right down the street from several lovely wineries, and we particularly enjoyed Bennett Lane. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and this choice for lodging did not disappoint. The electricity went out in the middle of the night, but that was not the fault of the property. Nelva was thoughtful and texted the update from the electric company so that we knew what was going on. We will definitely stay here next time we are visiting Napa Valley.
