Very spacious room with comfortable bedding. Common areas could be cleaner (hallways) where guests walk - needed a vacuum and dishes removed etc. A very central location with helpful staff and good on site facilities.

We stayed for 6 nights and Rydges was great for location, parking however extra $25 per night, pool spa and sauna were good, staff were very friendly and nice, however a little dated, good size pool. However it could do with a renovation and better cleanliness, numerous marks on walls and doors, paint chips on doors amd walls, dirty vent, dirt under bed On Saturday night at 11pm there was a false fire alarm and we all had to have a evacuation which was hard to get the kids back to sleep. Was able to get complimentary drinks we billed to room. It looks like they reduce amd have minimal cleaning.

We had a fire evacuation on the night we stayed, was not the fault of the hotel. It did disturb the night though and communication was poor. We ordered coffee the next morning and it was cold and expensive.

Property was not up to the standard of the Rydges. The whole hotel needed a clean. The carpets through the hotel were in desperate need of a vacuum. Room was tired. Breakfast in the morning was average with chipped serving dishes and cold food. Would not recommend.

Accommodation was walking distance to what we wanted to see. The bed was comfortable and had a great sleep. The breakfast was very good value. The cleaning could be better. In our bar fridge we found cooked chicken wings that was left from someone else that stayed before us. Obviously fridge not checked or cleaned before we checked in. Strange writing found on sanitary pad packaging. Asking us not use the products. That was weird. The shower spout did not work well. The glass shower door could be better. Water spraying all over the bathroom. But overall a nice stay.

Rooms on ground floor accessible by people in the bar / restaurant. We had children and late one night adults attempt to slide open our room door from the outside . Hotel design is silly. Bar and Restaurant absolutely empty, no vibes or ambience . Checked out one night early and would never return.

Nice hotel close to Canberra attractions. Rooms were comfortable but not high standard as other Rydges. Housekeeping was lacking- no teaspoons, used mugs and glasses not replaced, milk and coffee not replenished. Parking $25 per night. Best part of hotel was the indoor pool.

Deteriorating Hotel

Third time we have stayed at Rydges. We will not be back. Our room was badly knocked around and shabby. One of the two sinks in the bathroom was partially blocked. They provide tea and coffee and no spoon to stir it with. One of the internet connection ports was smashed. We had to move the lounge so we could watch tv only to reveal all the filth under it. To top it off , a charge of $25 per night to park the car which was not revealed until you go to check in. Their advertising only said " parking available". There is no investment in upgrading this site. The positve - the bed was comfortable, the staff polite and it was walking distance to dinning options at the Manuka shops.
