Lovely resort. It is clean, well appointed and the staff is accommodating to most requests. Beach was nice. Bartender, Gustavo, at the swim up bar was excellent! He kept the shots coming whether we wanted them or not! The buffet food was good but not excellent which is understandable for the amount of people they have to cater to. Fine dining was a joke because if you did not log in immediately at 8am to book your reservation you were out of luck. In our 3 attempts we were able to obtain 1 reservation for 9pm at Sensei. This was a common complaint among the people we met. We agreed to a sales presentation for their vacation club but the "manager" was very offended we would not spend OUR $40k on their club. The evening shows were very fun and entertaining. I WOULD recommend the resort but steer clear of the 2 hour sales presentation and don't expect fine dining at the nicer restaurants every evening. Sensei was passable. Los Girasoles was excellent!

Our 2nd trip to this resort. The beach is smooth but the rain kicked up the seaweed from the previous week so we mostly stayed by the pool, except for daily walks. Pools were clean with plenty of chairs and poolside service. Many options to choose. Plenty of entertainment at the swim up bar pool but we chose the quieter one. Made many friends. All staff was very friendly. We dislike the constant push to upgrade or buy a membership. They need to tone that down. A great place we would return to.

This was a beautiful property with lots of outside space. Service was great in some areas and poor in others. Not consistent. The a la carte restaurants we always booked ar 8am and when you did get in, portions were small and they always tried to upsell a $100usd bottle of wine. Beach was well maintained and drinks flowed freely. I would say it is a 4/5. Not much to do there though.

Edna and Ember in the Main Buffet were excellent. When me and my friends came in for breakfast and lunch they were ready with our drinks. Miquel in guest services was also great with us.Antonio,Seminole and Hilda at the pool were very attentive and always there and Eduardo ( a manager? ) was always so nice. He would talk to us whenever he saw us. And the gentleman that does the chair massages around the pool ( sorry I forgot his name ) he was the absolute best ~ I had 2 messages with him !!! This is my 4th time at OCT and it was prolly the best one.

Food was terrible. Power kept shutting off. Got locked in elevator at one point and in a bathroom stall another time. No water in the room and cold when it did come on. Entertainment was mid at best. Bartenders at the pool were great though.

We only had hot water for one of the five days we stayed. We paid for the Mayan experience but they never did the whole experience. We were not told about being there around lunch time to learn about the cooking or the culture. They food was supposed to be prepared in front of us but they made it in the kitchen and brought it out on plates. We have went to this resort before and the food that was offered at the buffet and À la cart restaurant were good. This time the food was not very good and it was the same thing everyday at the buffet. We were hoping to enjoy some seafood but there were really none offered.

This was my second stay at this resort. I feel like it is the best quality for the price. The staff are solid, they are there to make you feel your best served. This resort makes me remember how to treat myself and allows me to find your people, your peace, and your party.

Fantastic Food! We loved all 5 plus restaurants!!
We went here for our 25th anniversary and loved every moment! We especially enjoyed that all the food and drinks are covered when you book the hotel and the food was amazing!! It was our favorite part! At least 5 wonderful restaurants, including a buffet, and free drinks. This is an incredible deal considering most dinners would have cost at least $50 for the two of us anywhere else. It's also really close to Crococun Zoo which we really enjoyed and 30 minutes from Cancun. Just be sure to book your reservations at the hotel for dinner each night asap when you get there.

Compared to many other resorts we have been to in the past 30 years, this resort was above average and we mostly enjoyed our time here. Do not purchase any upgrade to the 'adult pool with preference dining options. The Beso 'adult' pool is absolutely no doubt, the seniors/elderly pool. They have a kids pool, family pool and their party pool where most adults are found and mingling in the pool This is not the Beso pool. We moved over to this pool despite paying the upgrade to the Beso. There are absolutely no benefit to the upgrade in regards to dining. Reservations start at 8 each morning, but when you are at customer service at 8 each morning, all reservations are done and you will get the nearly empty Italian or the few none reservation restaurants or buffet. So, save your money, the upgrade is absolutely no worth it. We would return to this resort, but much wiser. Good value.

This is a beautiful resort that offers lots of restaurants, three big pools, constant daytime events and decent nighttime entertainment. What really puts this property above and beyond others I’ve stayed at though is the staff. We did go with the privilege option but the staff were over and above for every one I saw. Jose at the Blue Moon went out of his way to make our last night an experience to remember and the food was delicious there. Way too many Sexy Gustofo’s were consumed in the main pool but we didn’t catch the actual ingredients so I guess we will just have to come back again and see if we can figure it out. The entire resort went out of their way to accommodate me with my mobility issues. Even the resort doctor went above and beyond. Highly recommend for a friend’s trip, a honeymoon, couple getaway or family of all ages. Something for everyone. 5 stars.
