Lovely resort. It is clean, well appointed and the staff is accommodating to most requests. Beach was nice. Bartender, Gustavo, at the swim up bar was excellent! He kept the shots coming whether we wanted them or not! The buffet food was good but not excellent which is understandable for the amount of people they have to cater to. Fine dining was a joke because if you did not log in immediately at 8am to book your reservation you were out of luck. In our 3 attempts we were able to obtain 1 reservation for 9pm at Sensei. This was a common complaint among the people we met. We agreed to a sales presentation for their vacation club but the "manager" was very offended we would not spend OUR $40k on their club. The evening shows were very fun and entertaining. I WOULD recommend the resort but steer clear of the 2 hour sales presentation and don't expect fine dining at the nicer restaurants every evening. Sensei was passable. Los Girasoles was excellent!

Our 2nd trip to this resort. The beach is smooth but the rain kicked up the seaweed from the previous week so we mostly stayed by the pool, except for daily walks. Pools were clean with plenty of chairs and poolside service. Many options to choose. Plenty of entertainment at the swim up bar pool but we chose the quieter one. Made many friends. All staff was very friendly. We dislike the constant push to upgrade or buy a membership. They need to tone that down. A great place we would return to.

This was a beautiful property with lots of outside space. Service was great in some areas and poor in others. Not consistent. The a la carte restaurants we always booked ar 8am and when you did get in, portions were small and they always tried to upsell a $100usd bottle of wine. Beach was well maintained and drinks flowed freely. I would say it is a 4/5. Not much to do there though.

We enjoyed our stay. The ocean view room was nice. Good beach, although hard to find a chair. Staff is great. The buffet has limited selection and no variety. The specialty restaurants are not great either, the menu is very limited. Drinks are poor quality if you don’t buy a privilege package.

I cant say enough good things about the staff, especially Antonio, Gustavo and Mateo at the pool bar. The pool with the swim up bar, the tiles were coming off the bottom and felt like you were standing on gravel. The areas around the pool where the chairs were, were not washed one time in the week we were there. At night there was very little activities, no place to stay out and drink except the lobby which wasn’t great.

Its the second time we are going there, first time was for christmas 2021 and now christmas 2024... the room are clean, the kid area is great, the little mike coffee shop is awesome, italian a la carte is good but its the last time we are going there. The buffet is really not that good, the service in restaurant are pretty bad(dont ask for a high chair for your kiddo it took forever and it look like its bothering them) they bring your drink and never come back for refill, if it rain everybody going to the lobby but they do not adapt their night then forget their show or whatever its just people in the lobby drinking and if your lucky after couple hour they gonna put some music.. the beach is dirty.. if you are privilege without kids its kinda great but if you are in the regular section with kids its totally different, also you need to go on the app at 8am in the morning to book your restaurant on that day if not they have no place available after that..

The hotel was very run down and old, but the property has a lot of potential. I should have paid attention to the reviews about the AC because its terrible in the rooms, we switched twuce. Rooms are also moldy but pretty if that makes sense. Staff is VERY VERY attentive!!

Beautiful but you’ll need to pay lots of tips
We stayed here for 6 nights over the Christmas period. We booked a Privilege Package. Overall the resort is beautiful, our room was great and clean which I appreciated. We never had to fight for a chair at the pool or beach which was great - there was room for everyone. However, if you stay here expect to be constantly forking out additional cash. As soon as you arrive you have to pay an additional eco tax when you check in, then a reef tax if you want to do anything on the ocean and then the $50 resort credit you get when booking through this website can only be used on certain things and only to certain amounts and they only tell you that when you check out (at check in you’ll be told the credit can be used for any resort expense, just like cash). For example they would only let me use a max of $10 resort credit on a $185 spa appointment. The staff only work for tips! We missed tipping housekeeping one day because they came way earlier than other days and the job they did was barely acceptable. During that clean they took our room service bags outside the room and left them there. The raccoons then got into them and NO one cleaned it up for 3 days! Even though housekeeping was around and there was maintenance work going on in that area during the day. The staff works tips and if they weren’t going to get one to clean up the mess they precipitated then they were not interested in the work.

Property was old and outdated. Food choices were limited and not the greatest. Front desk staff was nice but could not get good housekeeping service. The rooms were old and musty. The showers smelled of mildew and the AC didn’t work. The beach was beautiful to look at but rocky and filled with seaweed. The pools were cold but our kids still enjoyed the mini water playground. Also disappointed in the night time entertainment, or lack there of. Be warned they discriminate against and mark you with different color wristbands if you purchase through Expedia (and it’s highlighted on your name when you check in). It’s more expensive to pay through sites like this and I could see they gave the better room to family that booked through the hotel directly and treated them better.
