I don’t usually leave a bad review but for 400 per night I was expecting more. I realize this is an older Motel that has been refurbished and they have done an ok job. The location is directly downtown on Spring Creek so walkable to everything. The only problem was the overpowering smell of urine in our unit. It could be due to the fact that they allow pets, I’m not sure. It’s just for the price paid I wasn’t expecting this. Could have been just our unit as I haven’t stayed there before. Sorry but had to mention it.

The room was small but nice & decent, the bed sheets and pillows just smelled a bit funny (like bleach, wasn't pleasant, noticed it the night on our first day) when we were laying on it while watching movies. Weirdly, there was no mirror above the sink, but fortunately there was a half body mirror just outside the washroom. Our stay was okay but the location was amazing though. Sound insulation was not great since we can hear the people's footsteps upstairs and also the people talking outside by the creek's trail. AC was also loud but we decided to turn it off then just use the portable fan they provided in the room. Overall, it was a decent stay, I'd get or prefer a room upstairs next time if we come back for Canmore/Banff.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Canmore and is on the main street. It was very clean and well kept and the only nuisance was having to carry our luggage up the stairs to our room.
