Had the loveliest stay at the Muize. If you like surfing and beach-going this is the ideal location. Walkable to the waterfront and close to tons of surf shops, restaurants etc. Bed was quite comfy and our room had a view. Meg was especially helpful and kind. Will return without a doubt.
I spent a perfect week at the Muize, and truly enjoyed relaxing at the property as well as talking easy walks to the beach and waterfront restaurants. The hosts are very kind and helpful, and taking some add-on tours of the Cape Town area was wonderful! Breakfast each morning was delicious too! I loved my stay and hope to return.
The staff were very helpful as always. My case was delayed by the airline and the staff took it in and stored it for me until I returned from my safari. As always the views from the room and the breakfasts were great.
Loved the cost vibe and great location. A home-cooked breakfast is served to you in a comfy setting. Rooms were clean and relatively spacious. Would definitely recommend this place!
The Muize is simply lovely. It is approx 10 minute walk from Surfers corner overlooking the water. Our room (a standard one) was clean and airy and didn't get hot, with no need to put the aircon on. The bed big and soooo comfy. The B&B was quiet and I slept so well. But the best bit is the people. Nothing felt like too much trouble, including things like taking a shower at the end of our last day, long after we had checked out. Oh and breakfast. The full English was delicious and the daily fresh fruit was welcome. I'd definitely return.
Owners were friendly and helpful. Gave advice where to eat and even offered to collect us after dark. Good size room with lots of light, but a bit plain, and we found the bed very hard. It would have been helpful if WiFi code had been displayed somewhere. Good breakfast.
It was an enjoyable experience. The place was nice and cosy. The staff were very hospitable and helpful. It has a nice view and it is very close to the beach.
Very warm hosts. Very homely atmosphere and they make a lovely continental breakfast for you. Great value for the price and close from Simon's town, Boulder beach and Cape of Good hope. If you drive through Cape Town city, you can get there in 40 minutes from Table mountain. I ended up taking the more leisurely route through Chapman's peak drive, which took me about 2-3 hours with frequent stops.
Regarding the area, I was travelling from the US and had heard a lot about safely issues in South Africa. I felt Cape Town and the surrounding area was quite chilled and unless you are really looking out for trouble, Muizenburg is a friendly neighborhood.
Quick tip: Get there before 7pm or at least call the hosts and let them know that you will be arriving late. They mention that clearly on their site. The property is like a private house with a car garage. You have to get the keys to open the door to get in. So plz contact the hosts in advance and communicate when you will be there and how you can collect the keys.
Super location, newly refurburbished Tours offered
Great location, almost on the beach and ten minutes walking distance from central amenities. Tasteful, well maintained property, which has recently been refurbished to a high standard. Very helpful and attentive staff, lots of advice on local attractions and offering local tours to meet guest needs. Superb continental and cooked breakfast. Fair use internet access.
The Muize is a small family run B&B that offers comfortable and well serviced accommodation at value for money rates. I stayed with a colleague for 12 nights and discovered a South African hospitality that would be unlikely be on offer at a larger full service hotel. Staff and owners gave valuable local knowledge on what to do and where to go and were keen listeners on any feedback we gave. What I liked most was the attention to small details such as the plug adapters in the room and how care and service was tweaked on an almost individual to ensure the most pleasant stay. (Not through a request but just by listening and anticipating). Would I stay there again? In a heart beat!
