Comfy station hotel - recommended!
This is an excellent choice for visiting Carcasonne by train. Its just across the canal, which is convenient. Its a large old rambling station hotel. Its very comfy and the staff are very helpful and friendly. You can walk easily to the citadel but retreat to this calm location.

Adequate hotel, very convenient for station
Clean, comfortable and friendly hotel, sufficient for needs (somewhere to sleep) and very convenient for station and centre of town. Showing its age (faded grandeur) and in need of minor repairs (and in long run a major overhaul and update). Good value for money paid.

Located very busy downtown. Breakfast is very simple. Need to improve inside hotel decorating. Room request was not accepted. Some desk clerk isn’t friendly.

close to airport shuttle drop off
There is only one Airport shuttle and its timed to leave 45mins after aircraft lands. At this small airport passport control is very slow conciquentley some passengers missed the shuttle bus. If staying for weekend trip make sure you do not go to the walled medievil city untill Sunday, as the town of Carcassonne has nothing open on Sundays

Friendly hotel right next to the canal
If Chic boutique is your thing, this is not for you...however, if you like the faded grandeur of a more authentically French C19th hotel, then this might be your bag. The decor was outdated and very worn, however the rooms were beautifully cleaned, the hotel felt very safe and friendly for a solo female traveller. Its position, a stone's throw from the station/ boat cruises/bike hire/ main shopping street, was very convenient. It was about a 25 minute walk to the mediaeval city...but a pleasant one.The room was spacious and I was lucky enough to get a view onto the canal. The location is bustling during the day but not rowdy at night. Staff were very friendly and helpful and I would certainly stay here again.

A very good location close to the station which was particularly helpful on a cold wet day. The hotel is also pleasantly situated on the bank of the Canal du Midi with good restaurants close at hand.

Carcassonne
Once grand hotel in need of a refurb, great location, friendly staff, room service was good and it’s pretty cheap. It’s on the banks of the canal du midi, very pretty and across the bridge for the rail station. Within a few hundred meters of the city shops and a twenty minute walk to the old Cite. We parked for free just under the railway bridge by the canal; which is a convenient way of getting out of town to the motorway and other locations without the town traffic.

Inexpensive well situated room in a hotel close, maybe a 15 minute walk from the old town...no frills but comfortable and clean, value for money!

Great location, but needs updating.
An older hotel that needs a make over. Great location near the train station and an easy walk to the town center, but dingy.
