Summary:
This renovated and beautifully decorated bungalow sits right near the heart of town in the walking district. Extensive cleaning and linen service after every single stay. A quick 2 minute walk to town and only a few more minutes to the beach, includes use of: boogie and surf boards, beach chairs and towels, sand toys, and beach umbrellas. The Space:
We love to travel, appreciate great quality, and have taken great care to fully outfit our vacation home with all the things we love! And we hope you do, too!

Sleeps up to five. One king-size bed, two twin beds, and a sofa which we can provide bedding upon check in for an additional $100 fee.

Beautifully renovated kitchen fully stocked with everything you’ll need to prepare gourmet meals, and designer furnishings throughout.

4K HD TVs in the living room and master bedroom, AT&T fiber high-speed 600MB upload and download speed internet and full YouTube TV (including Sports Plus, Entertainment and 4K Packages), Apple TVs with over 1,000 movies, Lenovo Bluetooth bedside clocks with speakers and USB charge ports, a master charging station for all components, and even a portable iHome Bluetooth speaker for you to enjoy outside or at the beach.

The bungalow includes a fully enclosed private yard complete with a sitting/sunning patio, an outdoor dining area along with a covered and enclosed laundry room with a stacked LG washer/dryer. A BBQ grill just off the kitchen is also included for usage during your stay. Additionally, a shared outdoor hot water shower for both people and pets is located between the front and back bungalows. A dedicated pet relief area is located just behind the laundry room.

The shared sports shed includes: boogie boards, surfboards, beach chairs, beach towels, sand toys, sand wagon and beach umbrellas are all for you to use during your stay. Split type air conditioning system is provided to keep you cool on those hot summer days. All laundry, bathroom, and kitchen amenities are included. Electric car charging available onsite for an additional fee nightly, please inquire.

Located on a quiet street, a short stroll from the heart of Cardiff’s many restaurants, cafes, boutiques, yoga studios, salons, library, post office, wine bars, and local favorite – the “Seaside Market” grocery store, plus great surfing and beautiful beaches!

You can also catch the nearby Coaster to explore downtown San Diego for the day. A short drive away you can hike the bluffs overlooking the ocean at nearby Torrey Pines Reserve, catch the thrill of the world-renowned Del Mar Racetracks, snorkel in gorgeous La Jolla Cove, or take in a Padre game after a long day on the beach.

The Neighborhood:
Located just 30 minutes North of busy San Diego and is the south part of Encinitas, this laid back town promises a slower pace and some time to unwind. The beaches are endless and a quick walk gets you to the water. Cardiff by the Sea is nestled in the center of the best beach towns along the 101. Just South of the home is Solana Beach, Del Mar, and La Jolla while going North brings you to Encinitas, Leucadia, Carlsbad, and Oceanside. There's lots of shopping, attractions, and dining close by, or if you're not in the mood, there's plenty of space to get comfy!

Getting Around:
Parking is available in private rear garage only. If you're looking to just hang around the Cardiff/Encinitas/Leucadia area during your stay, it's easy to get places by foot or on e-bikes which can be rented locally.

Other Things to Note:
* Enjoy a 10% discount on your stay if it spans 7 days or more.
* Enjoy a 17% discount on your stay of 30 days or more.
* The Encinitas occupancy tax, which is 10%, is waived for stays of 31 days or longer.
* There’s a $100 pet fee for additional cleaning that’s required for all stays that include any kind of dog. Please refer to the policy for more details.
* There’s an additional $100 guest fee for the 5th guest, covering the wear and tear on the bungalow and sofa bedding that will be provided upon check-in.
* Stays longer than 21 days necessitate a thorough cleaning approximately every two weeks. We will charge for the extra cleaning(s) and, if applicable, pet fees after the reservation is confirmed.



PET POLICY

We love dogs, and our policy is really pretty simple. If you are bringing a dog(s) we need them to be crated if left alone. If you don’t have a crate, we have ones you can use. We understand if your furry family members can’t stay off the sofa or bed; we do have special sofa blankets and/or beach towels to protect the furniture. We try our best to accommodate all our guests and can’t have dogs directly on the furniture as it’s unhygienic for others who might be more sensitive. We also incur extra cleaning fees to prepare for our next guests. Cleanliness and sanitation are very important standards to our overall business. For this, we do require an additional cleaning fee. Finally, we expect our guests to pick up any dog waste daily in the yards and rinse down the area where the waste was picked up.



CITY PERMIT DETAILS

City of Encinitas Permit RNTL-007059-2016. We expect our guests to keep noise down to a minimum as this house is located in a residential neighborhood and quiet times are from 10pm to 7am. We have a maximum overnight occupancy of 5 guests. Maximum of one parking space is available in the garage at the rear of the unit. Trash is picked up on Friday mornings and all trash and recycle goods should be placed in the containers by Thursday night as pickup is usually very early.



CLEANING POLICY

The TLDR;
We’ll let you in on a little secret: good, thorough cleaning takes a lot of time—& it takes a village!

We’re slight neat freaks over here (it’s a good thing, we promise).

Our top-notch team takes pride in meticulously preparing the bungalow for you. Here’s an in-depth overview of how we’re spending the hours leading up to your arrival.

First things first—let in that coastal breeze!
By leaving windows and doors open for multiple hours, the fresh air starts flowing in while we get to work cleaning. In addition to our normal routine, we now disinfect all high-traffic surfaces too.

Each and every bed linen piece (even mattress pads, pillow protectors, duvet covers, and blankets!) will always be laundered between uses. Regardless of use, all bath linens (shower curtains and bathmats, too!) are laundered between visits to keep things extra fresh.

Woah there! We hear you.
Folks have shared their sticker shock concerns when seeing our cleaning fee for the bungalow. We understand that our cleaning costs are high—hence why we’re breaking it all down for you here.

Our crews—from the family-team cleaning the living space to our partners tackling laundry—are all compensated with fair wages. We believe good, hard work deserves an honest living!

To get into the nitty gritty, we typically spend ~15 hours readying the space & laundering the linens (all 10 loads of ‘em) as detailed above.

Here’s the the thing: what you see (and pay for) is what you get. We want you to feel right at home each and every time you visit the bungalows, and a spotless space is essential to that experience.

Your cleaning fee fuels our professional crews and allows us to upkeep our high sanitation standards—so thank you for helping us make the bungalows your fav clean & cozy getaway spot!

Note our cancellation policy for longer term stays is different than what is published on the booking site, if your reservation is longer than 15 days please note our modified policy below.



REFUND POLICY

For stays less than 15 nights, a 100% refund for cancellations with more than 30 days notice given before the check-in date. A 50% refund will be given for cancellations between 30 days and 14 days before the check-in date. If cancelling with less than 14 days notice no refund will be given.

For stays of more than 15 nights and less than 32 nights in length, 60 days notice is required for a 100% refund. A 50% refund will be in effect for cancellations between 60 days and 30 days notice of check in date. If cancelling with less than 30 days notice no refund will be given.

For stays of more than 32 nights, 120 days notice is required for a 100% refund. A 75% refund will be in effect for cancellations between 120 days and 90 days notice of check in date. A 50% refund will be in effect for cancellations between 90 days and 60 days notice of check in date. A 25% refund will be in effect for cancellations between 60 days and 30 days notice of check in date. If cancelling with less than 30 days notice no refund will be given.

However, we understand events happen outside of our control. If you need to cancel inside the "no refund" window, we always refund all the cleaning fees and occupancy tax if it was collected. In addition, we will attempt to re-rent the property and will refund back to you at your nightly prorata rate all the nights that we are able to rent.

Interaction with Guests:
We like to have our customer service leader Stacey Peterson meet all guests upon check-in and give a tour of the property. Managing partner Keith Clarke lives a short drive away and is available via phone or text. If you find that the home seems to be missing something that you’ll need during your stay, please don’t hesitate to ask. We’re happy to accommodate requests. This home is our happy place and we’re sure it’ll soon be yours, too!

Pleasant and relaxing base for our Spring Break trip!

We have stayed at many vacation properties in the Encinitas area and this was one of the very best! Nice quiet location within walking distance to the beach and several great places to eat, and central to many great attractions. We appreciated the cleanliness and comfortable beds and bedding WITHOUT the use of those decorative pillows that probably never get washed, thrown on the floor, used by other guests, then propped against your pillowcase. Anyway the unit is so thoughtfully stocked with items you might need for sunny days at the beach or rainy days out or in. At night we slept better here than any of the previous places we stayed in the area and during the day we enjoyed the outdoor seating areas as well.

Absolute gem

We wanted a place for our young family to enjoy spring break in the San Diego area. Having two bedrooms and laundry was important as we have two young kids who have incredible skills at getting stains on their clothes. I'm so glad I stayed outside of the city in a house, rather than in a hotel. The fenced yard was amazing, the gates all latch and so they were able to hang out in the front yard and play while we could keep an eye on them. Everything was set up to be child friendly, and it was so wonderful to be able to walk to restaurants and the beach. There is also a playground nearby at the local school, with a view of the ocean as a bonus. Keith and Stacey were extremely easy to communicate with, and the guidebook covered every question we had. Hope to return and book both units so we can share a vacation with the grandparents or friends.

Lovely spot! Limited kitchen

We loved our stay at this bungalow. It’s small but would work for a couple with two young children but not for two couples. Minimally furnished with a clean mid-century modern feel. (Would have been nice to have some simple rugs in living room. Outdoor space is fabulous because even in winter one enjoys a spacious tropical feel and lots of light. The kitchen is not a good one if you like to cook. Tons of coffee makers but when it came time to prep a real meal, it was difficult. Poor lighting, minimal exhaust fan, missing necessities like a roasting pan (we asked and it was suggested we roast our chicken on a cookie sheet), and sparse serving pieces—for example no large bowls for soup or cereal. Owners plan an update and presumably these improvements will be included, as they’re considered basics in most kitchens and don’t warrant the cost associated with remodeling

Gem of a Place

This beautiful bungalow, surrounded by lush tropical foliage, is wonderfully designed and thoughtfully put together. The hosts have created a great guest experience that’s very professional and made us feel like special guests. The area is gorgeous. Just walk outside and you’re in one of the prettiest neighborhoods anywhere. In minutes you arrive at a nice boardwalk with great views, and then, the beach. We felt very fortunate to have stayed here and will be back.

Amazing location and great setup

Loved our time in Keith’s bungalow. The unit is super well setup for a true home away from home, plus great outdoor space and all the kit for a great bicycle ride / trip to the beach / surf and anything else you could think of!! Great Vacation!

We had a wonderful time at the Cardiff Bungalow. The home was clean, had everything we needed, and worked perfectly for our family of four (plus our dog). Wonderful home base while we explored the San Diego coast

Wow this place was so dialed in! We had everything we needed. The shed was stocked with beach supplies. The kitchen was well appointed. Beds were comfy. Keith was incredibly hospitable and let us know he was there if we needed anything. We didn’t need a car and could walk, ride bikes or take Ubers to nearby attractions. I highly reccomend the Cardiff bungalows.

Perfect location to walk to everything the coast has to offer! Quaint place that is laid out incredibly well. All the comforts needed, plus beach toys and bikes. Kitchen is well equipped, and the bed is very comfortable. Great spot, will return for sure!

Excellent property, great location, very comfortable

We had a great experience. The property manager is very attentive and has taken great care to ensure attention to detail. We traveled with our dog, it’s great to be able to stay in a 5-star property that is pet friendly. The location is super close to the beach, great shops and restaurants. It’s very quiet and the beds are very comfortable. Highly recommend this spot. We will definitely stay here again.

Charming bungalow in a Stellar Location

Super comfy and cute - a short walk to beach and around the corner/down the street to the hub - with wonderful Seaside Gourmet Market, Restaurants, Starbucks & more. Nice yard/patio area for dogs and dining. Excellent hosts Stacy & Keith went above and beyond to provide me with everything I needed for a terrific stay. Highly recommend.

Best VRBO experience

As a frequent traveler, at the big hotel chains, I sometimes hesitate to stay at VRBO's. With the stay at home orders, I wasn't given a choice, and this is the first time I can say I am glad. This property has all I would expect if I was at a Residence Inn and more. From filtered water, to comfortable beds, this quiet bungalow is a place I would love to stay at again. It is a short walk to the beach, Cardiff Seaside Market and the rail trail. Keith went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed and he even had a booklet full of suggestions of places to go. If you're in need of a place to stay in San Diego, I HIGHLY recommend this place.
