Spectacular drives over the inter-valley roads give amazing views, while the rich, rolling land of the Vale of Glamorgan offers many castles, interesting churches and manor houses to explore. The nearest sandy beaches are 12 miles, and the Gower Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty famous for its beaches, magnificent coastal scenery and rich birdlife, is easily accessible.
Caerphilly is easily accessible and is famous for its magnificent castle and the crumbly white cheese which is widely available throughout the town. The capital, Cardiff, is well worth the visit and is an easy and compact city to navigate, with the River Taff flowing through the heart of the city. The Millennium Stadium sits happily alongside much older buildings including the castle which gives the city a vibrant and cosmoplitan feel to it. Tennis, riding, fishing and golf nearby.
