Great location. Dated hotel
Great location and lovely size rooms. But overall hotel is looking a bit tired. No parking here (some kind of building work out the back) but reception did provide a discount for a local NCP. Room on the third floor was v hot, with no way of reducing the temp as the windows didn't really open. Wifi didn't seem to work up there either.

Room for two should have more than one towel. Blinds and other areas that obviously don’t get cleaned very often were very dusty. The beds were really comfortable and had a great sleep. Poor quality English breakfast items and, the fruit options were fresh watermelon or tinned peaches with some McDonald’s style cheese slices!

The stay started out terrible: phone, toilet, lights, electrical and room temp didn’t work. We notified management and were moved to another room which was wonderful. Overalls very nice stay.

Friendly and helpful staff. Overall we had a good relaxing time. Near the castle and close to the city centre. Cardiff Arms Park was 3 minutes away.

A one night stay dropping our daughter off at uni. Convenient location and friendly staff. Clean throughout. It is a dated Victorian hotel which most have been fabulous in its time. Fan in the room as no aircon and windows don’t open but this was fine. Overall for the price we paid no issues with it.

Nice, convenient location but a few issues
Convenient location and if lucky you get a lovely castle view. Service was good - although the hotel bar wasn't always manned. Should be. Windows need some serious restoration - mine had a crack on one of the panels. Also my room had the corridor light shine through my room which I could cover up - shouldn't be the case...definitely needs some 'nip and tuck'

Lovely old building, with a sweeping staircase near to the entrance of the hotel. My premium room was large with three windows and a large super king size bed. The bathroom had a wash hand basin with several cracks in it. I found the food poor quality and expensive. Only one of the lifts were working which staff used as well as guests.

Lovely staff in a beautiful old building. Rooms are fairly basic but very affordable considering the excellent central location. Parking is a bit of a pain, but concierge has a voucher for nearby parking deck.

Nice stay, in a convenient location.
Booked last minute. Very happy with service and room, although the room was extremely warm; uncomfortably so. The window had broken latches so couldn’t remain open. Otherwise was clean, with recycling efforts clearly in place. I’d certainly stay again.

For a one night stay it was just about OK, however rooms were hot, windows wouldn’t stay open, no aircon, bed was dreadful, and the toilet had a leak at the back. Investment is needed in the rooms. Lobby area was good. Had I stayed longer I would have asked to move. It will sell based on location which is excellent.

Reception is beautiful. Rest of hotel in need of refurbishment. Reception staff very welcoming. Room ok, very dated. Was boiling hot so managed to get windows open. Managed to turn radiator off. Overlooking street and castle though could not see castle as blocked by trees. Comfortable beds, quiet to sleep. Shower was so hot and could not adjust cold water to cool it down. Overall ok hotel, in need of some refurbishment. Ok just to sleep but we didn’t try out any facilities there. Close to city centre so very convenient. No parking available and nearby NCP very expensive. Hotel not worthy of price we paid
