Fantastic Normandie Base for visiting the Beaches and Museums
Delphine is a wonderful host who makes you feel like family. The house is well taken care of, clean, perfectly located and wonderfully decorated. It is a great home and an excellent central location for a Normandy vacation.

Perfect
We couldn't have been happier with our accommodation in our stay in Carentan. The property was spacious, clean, well equipped and in a perfect location, being within a short walk to the Town Centre. The host Delphine was there to greet us on arrival and was very friendly, giving us all the information we needed. We came as a family of eight on a trip to visit the Normandy beaches, cemeteries and museums - this was a perfect base to do all of the above. With the unseasonably hot weather in mid-October, we even had a bar-be-q in the charming back garden, making use of the ample outdoor seating and facilities. The games room to the front of the house with a pool table and football table saw plenty of use and was a great addition for some evening entertainment. This was a perfect stay for us and I couldn't recommend the property highly enough. Thank you Delphine.

Perfect lodgings.
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay in the comfortable and spacious house. Lovely garden and ponds. We had B-B-Q on 2 nights as the weather was spectacular. Nearby marina has a great restaurant. The house is within easy driving distance of beaches, towns and Mon San Michel. Highly recommend the house. Thank you to Madam Delphine for your kindness and hospitality. Merci beaucoup.

Wonderful Host, Wonderful Property
We were greeted by the warm and friendly host Delphine who took the time to show us around the property explaining how everything worked. The property was exceptional and well described and very reasonably priced The location was close to the town centre and also close to supermarkets all with in walking distance. Wonderful Normandy Stay
This is a very nice property for families or groups traveling in the Normandy area. We were a group of six seniors and were very comfortable in the property. The wifi is a little weak, but still functions. The Normandy beaches are an easy drive and the many little villages are picturesque. Daphine was a wonderful hostess and provided great recommendations on local attractions. There're town markets in one or more villages every day and they are great for food and local wares. I would highly recommend this property.

Great home for relaxing and near the Normandy beaches
Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Plenty of room for the 6 of us (there were beds for 8 and another room coming soon). All of the current bedrooms are located upstairs. Everything you would need was in the kitchen and a boulangerie is only a few blocks away. It was a great base for visiting the Normandy beaches and Mont St Michael. I just wished we had more time to enjoy the house and the town of Carentan. Delphine greeted us when we arrived (later than we planned) and was a gracious hostess.

A pleasant retreat near Normandy Beaches
Delphine is a gracious hostess, and the property allowed our large group to have space when needed, yet the dining area and sunroom could accommodate the whole group. Our visits to Pont du Hoc, the museum in Caen, the American Cemetery and Omaha beach were easily accessed from this property. We also visited Mont St. Michel, which was a longer drive, but worth the drive. If you have a large group, this is a great property!

Great Place to Stay for a Trip to Normandy Area
This was a lovely place to stay. The owner was very easy to work with and always responded quickly, if I had questions. There was four of us, so we didn’t need all the bedrooms. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with six or even seven people traveling. The first bedroom had a bad mattress, it dipped in the middle, so more than one person in that bed would have been uncomfortable, but the rest were fine, and had individual private bathrooms. The owner is in process of remodeling another room, and putting in a new king size bed on the lower level, which will be a great addition to this place! Our stay was wonderful, and if we come back to the Normandy area, we will definitely try to stay here again!

Fabulous!
Delphine was a wonderful host. Her home is delightful and turned out to be much more than we expected. We had everything we needed and we were able to enjoy it all in a beautiful setting at Blactot in Carentan. There was an abundance of room with bathrooms for everyone allowing for comfort and relaxation after long days of touring beautiful Normandy! We will not hesitate to return and stay at Delphine’s again in the future!!

wonderful stay in a beautiful gite
we arrived as a family of 7, all above the age of 17. the gite was an amazing size that footed us all very comfortably. the bedrooms were all of a good size, 2 doubles and two singles, one double with enquire. the bedrooms were beautifully furnished and bedding and towels were provided. downstairs was lovely, from the front room that housed a pool table and table football, good entertainment for the family. a new extension which was the kitchen, dining, sitting area, with patio doors that opened all the way to let the beautiful garden in. the gite was a ten minute stroll at most to the beautiful historic town of Carentan, with plenty of shops, restaurants and a market on a Monday. you are very close to all historic sites such as Utah beach 8km, st Mere Eglise 12 km. would recommend getting in the car a travelling to all the wonderful historic locations. The beach when the tide out is huge. be advised if you have a dog a lot of the beaches are not dog friendly in the summer months or need to be kept on a leash, Utah beach is dog friendly. a wonderful time had by all, with a wonderful hostess in Delphine

We arrived after a long traveling day to a smile and joyful greeting. Delphine welcomed us to Normandy with a bottle of sparkling wine, special biscuits from the region and a jar of homemade jam. She quickly called a local restaurant to get us some dinner as it was approaching 9:00 pm. She gave us a recommendation for another dinner as well. Both of the restaurants were wonderful! The home is perfect for an adult family. My adult boys loved playing foosball and pool. The home was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this home!

Beautiful house but rigorous cleaning rules
The house is really beautiful in a wonderful rural setting, which was what we were looking for. The kitchen is set up with nearly everything you could need, and we were able to cook and eat at the house with ease. The kitchen/living room is quite big and newly renovated and a comfortable hangout spot. There is also a nice game room with foosball and pool table. The owner has assembled multiple binders and has piles of brochures about the local area and sightseeing possibilities, which we found helpful. The beds had warm comforters, and we all slept very well. The owner is kind and friendly. You should know: Although it’s not noted in the information about the rental, the owner requests a fee for cleaning in cash. If you do not choose to pay it, you must strip all beds; vacuum and mop most of the floors; dust all rooms; collect and remove all trash; clean and mop bathrooms, clean the kitchen, fridge and all appliances, putting away all dishes, and clean the barbecue if used. It takes about 60-90 minutes to complete the list. Also, the garden is not especially suitable for young kids. My daughter got a short-lasting small rash from stinging nettle growing close to the walking path. She also fell through a styrofoam rock display that is mistakable for actual rocks because it’s colored gray and has moss growing on it. A cat poops every morning near the window, burying its feces in the rocks. Just something to consider before letting little ones crawl around.

Urlaub in Carentan
Die Gastgeberin war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir fühlten uns bei ihr wohl. Die Lage des Hauses ist gut, wenn man Land und Leute kennenlernen möchte. Zu Fuß ist man schnell in der Innenstadt und am Hafen. Lediglich die Ausstattung des Hauses ist zum Teil in die Jahre gekommen, Stühle und Sofa nicht sehr bequem. Auch war es nicht so sauber, aber da hat ja jeder ein anderes empfinden.
