Large damp patches in ceiling and down walls, nasty corridor smells, next to a nightclub so very noisy with music and screaming til very late, extremely dated decor with fixed head shower pointing horizontally and not into the bath, only way to use it was by holding the shower head so had to shower one handed, unmarked, poorly lit rough car park where people blocked others in as it wasn’t clear where the entrance/ exit was, causing an hour wait til someone happened to be leaving and moved their car, so customers squabling. Very helpful, friendly staff it’s only saving grace!
Enjoyed stay in well equipped, quiet, clean little room at back of hotel. Really appreciated help from Bryony in finding me a room even when the hotel was fully booked! Friendly, efficient staff, hotel conveniently located and great value for money. Will definitely come back!

Good value but in need of refurbishment
Tired hotel that you can see would have been wonderful 40-50 years back. Great location in city with free car parking at the hotel which is a real bonus. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was a good size and everything worked except the heating (some problem with radiator) so given a convector heater which worked well. Ensuite in need of refurbishment but functional. Breakfast room was modern and buffet breakfast was satisfactory. Very good price. Overall it was fine for a one night stay
Fabulous location two minutes from the railway station and close to the city centre so ideal for a couple of nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room quiet and spacious. The only issue was the room could do with a bit of TLC - the curtain rail was literally hanging by a thread and the bathroom ceiling was slightly mouldy.
The first room we were allocated had a distinctly chemical smell when we entered. While unpacking my things I noticed a bug crawling on the carpet so I killed it. google identified it as a bed bug. It was delivered to reception and a new room requested. We took the only twin available. The only positive thing to say is the bed linen and towels were clean and freshly laundered everything else was a million miles from the adverting pictures.
Enough said, our party won’t be staying there again.
Did not like the room due to having two different sides that had tapped ceilings . Causing us to have to duct everywhere, frightened i was going to bang my head getting out of bed. Also you could not plug your hair dryer up anywhere near a mirror.

Had another lovely stay, staff were very friendly, the room was clean but the bathroom needs a make over. Other than that my friends & I had a great time
The staff were friendly, and helped with assistance when I had booked the wrong date. This is the only positive point to this hell-hole of a 'hotel'.
The room itself was tiny, and had last been decorated circa 1974. The beds were just about passable for the price, however walking around the room risked a serious head injury due to the incredibly low ceilings. Only Warwick Davis would find the ceiling height adequate.
Although the hotel didn't have a spa facility, it did however have a sauna. Sadly the sauna was in fact the bedroom - the temperature was akin to the Sahara Desert, but with more dust. When the window was opened the three inches allowed, the cacophony of terrible karaoke from the pub opposite was enough to make anyone jump out of the window to their death. Alas, due to the tiny opening I was unable to do this.
If things couldn't get worse, the bathroom looked as though it had never been updated since the invention of bathrooms. The Romans probably had better facilities. In fact, the cavemen probably did. It has to be seen to be believed.
I wouldn't stay again if you paid me.
