If there were ten stars I would happily give them to Villa Mara! It’s a charming, small, beautifully run property. One block from the quiet end of Carmel’s iconic beach, it was the perfect location to spend our 24th anniversary. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and kind. Despite having been to Carmel many, many times, our stay here felt like coming home. We’ll definitely be back.

One of a kind..true gem
One of the best properties I’ve stayed in (and I’ve traveled extensively within US, Europe and parts of Asia). The location was perfect..away from the crowds but only 20-30min walk to downtown. Access to beach is 5min walk. The hotel itself is gorgeous..immaculate inside and outside, the gardens and fire pit are inviting, room was perfect for our short getaway with well-appointed furnishings, exquisite decor, very comfortable bed, heated tile floors, complimentary snacks, delectable breakfast & great views from the private balcony. The quality of service was the real gem here..it was unmatched; smooth check-in with complimentary glass of wine; very friendly and laidback staff who went out of their way to make our stay so relaxing and enjoyable. Will definitely stay here on our future visits.

What a beautiful little boutique hotel! If you want great service and conversation this is the place for you. Such a great night's sleep and comfortable room. Such amazing attention to detail. The owner must be artistic because everywhere you turn is eye candy! They really go above and beyond to anticipate every need you could have. We are already planning another vacation here!

Our stay at Villa Mara Carmel was undoubtedly one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. From the moment we walked in, until the moment we left, we felt like family. The staff could not have been more helpful, warm, kind, or attentive. The property itself is also beautiful. Exquisitely designed, curated, and cared for, it is a little oasis we can't wait to come back to!!!!

This is an amazing location, It's very quiet and beautiful peaceful. Top shelf service. The staff is very friendly and professional. Amazing breakfast. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The staff Robert, Rocky, Olivia and Gabby will make your stay memorable. I highly recommend this Hotel.
