Major security issues
By far the worst experience my family has had at a VRBO. We arrived at 11:30 at night only to find someone already in the rental. I wasn’t able to immediately get a hold of anyone (VRBO or contact on email). We left to go find a hotel but the one we went to was sold out. Finally found info on how to get a refund through VRBO. You have to have proof so we drove back to take a video and picture of the place. Thankfully the guy was outside that my husband spoke with earlier. We figured out that he rented the other side of the duplex and entered the wrong place. Apparently the second lock box code is the same for both units and that’s how he got in. Someone finally reached out to me at about 12:30am. She said we could use the other unit for a few nights until the guy checked out that was in ours. When we entered the second unit it was 43 degrees. Absolutely freezing. My family did not get to sleep until well after 3am because it was so cold and by that time it was only 54 degrees.The other rental we stayed in for two days was much smaller than the one I payed for. We had to do the move out checklist twice. Absolutely zero sleep on the first night due to the cold temperatures. The owner did reach out to apologize but there was no offer of any refund for the price difference between the two rentals or for the major stress and inconvenience this caused. I would not recommend this place to anyone until the lockbox codes are changed.
