Very cute cottage on quiet street
Very cute cottage that was clean and spacious, exactly as described on a quiet road. Only complaint was that there was no wifi as cell service is not great in the area, but otherwise a great, affordable place to stay! Would definitely book this again!

Great location for exploring the area
We enjoyed the natural setting and quiet area and it was a great jumping off point for exploring the Carson and greater Columbia Gorge area. Wish we had even more time to stay and explore! We rented the two houses in the area and this worked very well for our small group - everyone was very comfortable and we were all able to gather in the larger house for meals. The houses are restored very nicely!

Nice houae in a beautiful setting
A nice house in a quiet and beautiful out-of-the-way neighborhood. Hiking/biking trails and swimming hole right around the house. It was perfect for the family. 3 good size rooms. Mattresses were a bit soft. The house was clean except the floors were quite dusty. Ok signal for cell phones. They have most things but bring your own kitchen stuff such as spices and foil if you are planning to cook. BYO laundry detergent. There's AC in the house. Keep in mind that the rangers/house keepers only work from Monday to Thursday. No one will answer your questions out of those times. Otherwise they were very good at responding during those hours. We had a nice time.

Surprised to find this was a historic site.
This remodeled CCC built house is part of a historic district. It is one of two houses along this street that has been restored and is now available for rent. It is an interesting, beautiful, quiet area close to lots of great trails and lots of waterfalls. We really enjoyed it, but the house is poorly stocked - no ice cube trays, cutting boards, salad bowl, colander, or even pillow cases in our room. No outdoor furniture, even though there is a nice porch, no BBQ, no rug or warmth anywhere - all very clean and sanitary. Would definitely visit again, but just bring more of my own supplies.

Quiet house in the woods
Very nice house in a beautiful, quiet location. The house is older, but well maintained with beautiful decor. The kitchen is well stocked, but the bathrooms were limited.. no hairdryer, or soap in the showers. The TV had a glitch, it worked but was sort of irritating to watch because of the glitch. Overall we truly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely stay again.

Fun and Sweet Space but very sparse
Lovely spot. Very limited cookware so plan on bringing everything you need. Sparsely furnished (no rugs etc.) but a lovely location. Little things missing (like coat hooks) that would add to convenience. Clean and pleasant just bring every single thing you need (except towels.) It is a beautiful location and cute house.

Away From it all
Stayed here for Thanksgiving. The cabin is in a very peaceful setting, with several areas to walk to and explore or drive around. The house was very cozy, quiet and had pleny of room for myself, spouse and our 2 dogs. The cabin was clean, odor free, plenty of blankets, towels and pillows. The mattresses are a type of memory foam, too soft for me but ok. Since we celebrated Thanksgiving at this cabin we made the traditional turkey dinner, only thing we did need that the cabin did not have was measuring cups/spoons. I'm really happy the county is restoring these 1930 era cabins and making them available for rent. It's an amazing setting. I can't wait to return. And highly recommend.

Mt. Baker house
The house was wonderfully clean. Nice! The heat pump however, could not keep up with the cold weather: 27 degrees nights and 37 degree days. We came to enjoy the views of the Wind River nursery since I worked there 50 years ago and there is a Port O Potty right in the line of sight out the living room window. A bit of a disappointment! Seems like it could be better placed!!!

We loved it, recommend it, and would do it again.
Nice place, my family loved it. I would use it again given the chance and recommend it highly. Fabulous location. Easy access to Carson and Stevenson, so had everything we could need. Plentiful hot water and the owners left plenty of towels. Beds are comfortable and warm and the kitchen has all the basics you need for coffee, refrigeration, utensils, etc. There is a TV, and the owners have provided a DVD player. The absence of Wi-Fi precludes any streaming and there is no point in putting a TV antenna on because there are no standard TV signals out here (at least according to antennaweb.org). We had a great time and didn't miss the TV.

Super great stay! Close to all the amazing hikes and waterfalls and adventures! We got locked out but the ladies who volunteer next door helped us reach out the the cleaning lady who let us in! The house was perfect for the family and the kids had a blast with the game table down in the basement. I loved the friendly neighbors around us and the swimming hole under the bridge!!

A+++
Location is right in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest in an area where it is close enough to find things to do, a short walk to the small creek for a dip with the kids, hiking trails all around you, scenic waterfalls just a short drive away, the area is nice and quiet and the house is maintained clean. Fun place to stay when visiting the area. Would stay again.

Beautiful Place in Beautiful Setting
OMG! We were impressed. Whole family wanted to move in! Very cute house with all of the amenities and located in a most beautiful area. Easy to find, too. It's going to be even more beautiful in Autumn! BEWARE: It says "no wifi" and there is NO WIFI! Most of family was happy about that. Teens may not be! Lots of work was put into this house, and it shows. Comfortable beds and 1.5 bathrooms really came in handy! Big new fridge & stove; microwave easy to use. Very nice electric fireplace took chill off and gave very nice ambiance. We are very glad we found this house & feel the price is well worth it. You can't find that much charm or room in a motel room anywhere within 100 miles!

Great Historic Home
Fell in love with this historic little house as soon as we walked in the door! It felt a little “out of the way” on arrival, but was actually central to the waterfall hikes we had planned and only 15 min from restaurants and grocery store. Do not hesitate to book! A couple of things to know. No-WiFi, it was in the listing but somehow I missed it. We have ATT and Verizon and had decent service. Just something to keep in mind if you need to download a lot of maps or other data. There is a tv and DVD player, but it was not able to read our memory card, no cable or Roku. There is a small selection of movies to watch (plus we added a couple). Amenities are basic compared to other rentals (no fancy toiletries or even a hair dryer). We only used the kitchen for breakfast and found it well-stocked for our needs. The washer and dryer worked well and was a bonus. It was an honor to stay in this house and support the county’s efforts to restore Wind River. Take a few extra things with you and enjoy!
