This is an affordable, clean place however it’s the bare bones of a hotel in Cartagena. It’s a short walk from the airport, about 7 min. It’s not easy to find for taxi drivers so you have to remember what streets it falls by. (Calle 70, Carrera 7). I don’t have any complaints about the room itself, it was a little off-putting the receptionist started offering me another option for 30,000 pesos extra a night for a “quieter room”. They will charge you for anything you use including the small toiletries they put out for you. It is a safe area, there are restaurants around, both touristy and seafood places where they may not know English. If you do want to be around the sites book around El centro (where the historical places are) or boca grande/boquilla for the beaches. Otherwise it’ll be a taxi drive to go anywhere like meeting for tours or to be where the fun is.
If your goal is to be somewhere cheap and safe, this is it, the AC works, the showers are nice, but all in your proximity will be a ton of pharmacies, a few restaurants, and some taste of real Colombian seafood. Taxis are pretty cheap in general: expect 20-25,000 pesos each way if you do want to go to el centro, or most parts in Cartagena.
