Located less than 40 minutes from the Bordeaux ring road, 30 minutes from Saint Emilion,
and 1 hour 15 minutes from the Arcachon Bay, the Séchoir de l'Engranne invites you to stay
in its cosy and carefully decorated gîte. The gîte "Le Séchoir" has 3 spacious and very comfortable bedrooms, a relaxation area that can be converted into a 4th bedroom for adults or children, two bathrooms, and two toilets, one of which is separate. There is also a beautiful living room with a functional
kitchen combined with a dining area and a lounge for a convivial atmosphere.
The covered and shaded terrace overlooking the swimming pool (4 m x 8 m), the pétanque
court, and the countryside is equipped with a summer lounge where you can relax, a large
table with comfortable chairs, and a fire pit, plancha, and barbecue.
For owners of electric vehicles, a fast charging station is available on site. A putting green is
also available on the property for golf initiation, training, or fun.

Great villa, lovely owners, shame about extra charges
This is a very lovely villa and the owners are very helpful and welcoming. However, there is a but. When you stay at a villa, you really don't want to be worried about how much electricity you use and whether you will be charged extra. On the first day, the meter reading was recorded (however you don't get access to the metre during the stay to know how much basic running electricity there is-pool is heated, or how much you are using). I know this was in the contract, but you assume, a reasonable allowance will be included in the contract. We were charged 28 euros extra at check out. We really hadn't used an excessive amount. There was only four of us (all adults), we only used A/C at night upstairs, we left a day early. Therefore, I hate to think what extra charge there would be for a family with children who stay for the full week. It was also a week during temperatures of 37 degrees and so you would hope the rental price for a premium week acknowledges that electricity may be higher as the rental price certainly is. The AC unit is also on the landing so you have to keep bedroom doors open to cool all rooms (not great for privacy). The extra charges just leaves a little bit of a sour taste when you leave and have to pay more. I think possibly the owners need to allow a little more electricity within the high price they charge as we really didn't use an excessive amount for four. Sadly, it would put me off returning especially if we had a larger group.

Amazing new conversation from old store, all you require for a weeks stay, hosts very helpful & friendly & the goats give an added interest. Great surroundings in a beautiful area in the heart of the wine country.

The best house in the best location
We stayed for 5 nights in this beautiful house - the photos don’t do it justice. It’s absolutely immaculate and renovated to an extremely high spec. All bedrooms/bathrooms were amazingly clean and very comfortable beds. The kitchen is very well equipped, we had everything we needed and more to self cater for the 5 days. Every little detail has been thought of. We also used the open fire bbq which was lovely. There is even a little utility room with extra appliances and washer and dryer. The outside space is outstanding, it’s really lovely and quiet and the pool was great. We also really enjoyed the covered eating/lounge areas. Marie Helene and Pascal were great - and had no problems accommodating us when our flights were delayed on the way there. They gave us a great run down of the house and also lots of local information about the surrounding areas. It’s a great place to relax with friends but also children would love it due to all the space/pool. Really recommended having a trip to st emilion (we did an e bike Chateau tour which was brilliant), or over to the beach and sand dune at arcachon (lovely sea food restaurants). There is a supermarket about a 5 minute drive away and little markets in the town nearby which are nice to visit. Overall, we hope to come back to this amazing place - thank you Marie Helene and Pascal for such a fantastic stay!

Amazing house and garden!
Amazing house with a lot of space, spotless clean and very well equipped. Everything is exactly as described and even better than the pictures. Furniture, kitchen and bathrooms are modern and of high quality and the beds are very comfortable. The outdoor area is overwhelming and we enjoyed the pool, terrace, BBQ and boule a lot. Marie Hélène and Pascal are very lovely and thoughtful and quick in answering any questions. We would definitely stay there again and recommend the place to others.

un lieu reposant et rénové avec goût
Abritel pas trop au top dans la gestion des échanges Cependant des propriétaires remarquables d'efficacité pour pallier aux défaillances d'abritel. Un lieu magique, super bien rénové, des propriétaires à l'écoute, bienveillants, ayant besoin de critique pour améliorer, juste rare et magnifique. Pour ma part, c'est l'endroit du repos et du confort. Nous recommandons vivement : prestation à hauteur du tarif demandé.
