Tiny home getaway on Puget Island, WA

Located on picturesque Puget Island, Washington, the Guesthouse at Blue Skies Farm offers modern, tiny home (400 sq. ft.) accommodations for your perfect getaway in the country.

Sitting in the Columbia River, between Portland and Astoria, Oregon, Puget Island offers a nice mix of rural countryside with the Pacific Coast. We are centrally-located for local area fishing (salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon fishing), cycling, kayaking, mushroom hunting, and, and for the adventurous, windsurfing. Our little island also boasts several small farms – including ours – where you can buy seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables; and direct-source local meats, eggs, honey, and flowers. During your stay you can explore our small, marine town of Cathlamet, grab a beer from our local brewery, and wander through galleries featuring Wahkiakum County artists. Puget Island has nice, flat roads for easy walking, jogging, or cycling and a public access boat ramp close to the Guesthouse. Although the island is easily accessed by WA State Route 4, a ferry trip across the river to Oregon may also enhance your vacation experience.

Newly-built in 2021, the one bedroom, one bathroom Guesthouse has full-size, stainless steel kitchen appliances (stove, oven, refrigerator and dishwasher), tea kettle, coffee maker, microwave, and washer/dryer. After exploring the island, you can prepare your locally-sourced meals on a sheltered side deck on the electric grill provided; and watch the freighters come in and deer frolic across the field from the larger patio with sofa and chairs. Although no TV is provided, there are several board games to keep you entertained, and you can stream shows/movies to your own device using the free WiFi or listen to music on the bluetooth speaker. Feel free to bring your own firewood to enjoy the fire pit; or purchase some in town or scavenge for some on the local beach.

Puget Island stay
Fantastic property and location. Really well equiped little home and well thought out use of space. We enjoyed the quiet location and plentiful wildlife on the island including the deer every morning and evening in the garden. Would like to think that we could get back here again at some point in the future.

Great to have deer grazing in the yard
Enjoyed the country feel and quietness. Wish I could have spent more time in the house, but was busy doing things with my family. The ferry made driving to the Oregon Coast an adventure.

Quiet Weekend Getaway
Super cute tiny house on Puget Island. Great views from the back porch. Property was clean and well stocked with kitchen dishes and utensils. Neighborhood was amazingly quiet. My husband and I had a very relaxing comfortable stay. The only thing that could have made it better would have been a River view, but the mountains views were spectacular. There are very few restaurant choices directly in Cathlamet, we had to travel at least 20-60 minutes to get to nicer restaurants, which is okay but I would have packed more food with us had I realized this. A book of restaurant ideas and things to do would have been a nice addition to this VRBO. Also we didn't know there was a fire pit outside, supplying a small amount of firewood for guests would have been a huge gesture of hospitality. We did find some wood for purchase at a grocery store nearby though. Overall it was a great stay

Calm and quiet place near the river
Pretty calm and green place on Puget Island. Close to nature and the river. Between Vancouver and the coast provides many option for activities. Nice and modern place, literally everything you need is there (at least a kettle for hot tea during cold nights!).

Tiny but mighty!
We LOVED our stay at this tiny home! It is spotless and very well appointed - the owners furnished it beautifully, and the space is well used. The kitchen is truly gourmet and had everything we needed, including pots/pans, lovely dishes, platters, bowls, coffee maker… these guys really thought of everything! There is even a collapsible dining table that allowed us to host 2 of our relatives for dinners. The bed is super comfy with nice linens, and the bathroom is well stocked with body wash, soap, TP, etc. The deck has a nice view, and we enjoyed sipping wine and watching deer grazing in the field. It was conveniently located to Cathlamet - we spent 3 days salmon fishing on the Columbia, and it was a quick 6 minute drive to the marina. We will most definitely stay here again, and would highly recommend this property. A huge thanks to the owners for creating such a fantastic place!

Cute and quiet.
Property was great... very relaxing and had all that we needed. A little out of the way to the places we wanted to go but the drive was lovely! Only complaints I have was that the bed was too hard for my back and yhe toilet seat us loose. Both are fixable. This tiny home is a home away from home. Enjoyed our stay!

Adorable, clean, easy
Everything was wonderful about this property (except the Wi-Fi, which I hear isn't too great in general on the island, and keep in mind there is no TV). It is a cute tiny house with all the kitchen items you'd need, good water pressure, a lovely comfortable bed and a big porch with plenty of furnishings as well as an electric grill. It sits on a large lot that hosted daily visits from local deer. Very pleasant.

Charming
This little house is comfortable, well appointed, clean and nicely stocked. While Puget Island itself is small and not particularly exciting, it is quiet and private. Connection is easy to Washington by a bridge, and to Oregon by a ferry. I recommend driving out to Cape Disappointment on the Washington side of the river, or to Astoria on the Oregon side, or do it all in one trip. Recommended!
