Marao Cottage with Private Garden - Near Historic Center

House in the center of Porto, close to Lapa subway station, at 1. 6 km walking distance from historical center. Restaurants and Supermarket nearby (400 meters). Garden floor of a 2-family house with private entrance. Fully renovated flat with Wi-fi included.
Consisting of two bedrooms plus a TV room with a sofa bed (3rd bed), brand new kitchen with new appliances, fully equipped with electric 3-burner cook top, separate oven, dishwasher, clothes'washing machine and coffee maker with milk frother - start your day with your own cappuccino and fresh squeezed orange juice on the patio! Large kitchen table comfortably seats four. The kitchen opens onto a small sunroom which accesses the new windowed bathroom as well as the sunny outdoor patio and garden. Entire apartment for 1 to 4 people.

We would like to inform you that on March 1, 2018, the city of Porto will apply the Tourist Tax to all bookings in all hotels. Anyone older than 13 years, staying a night in Porto, pays the tax per night, per person for a maximum of seven straight nights per person and per stay.

Tourist Tax rates: € 2 per night and per person, up to a maximum total amount of € 14 (Seven straight nights per overnight stay / person). We ask guests to pay directly to the owner upon arrival.

Amazing!

Great host & lovely place
A friend and I stayed for about two weeks and I’m grateful that we came across it in our search. The apartment is quaint and had everything we needed. I especially appreciated that it had some basics that allowed us to cook our own meals on occasion, loved the backyard and although it is close to downtown Porto it’s located in a quiet neighborhood. Rui is the best host we could have asked for! He was warm, welcoming, accommodating, very responsive and just super kind. Although I arrived well before check-in time, he allowed me to already leave my luggage there, and we even went to a neighborhood café having a very pleasant chat and he gave me some great recommendations. Would definitely stay there again when in Porto. Thank you Rui!

Excellent spot - super quiet
We loved staying at Rui's place. We were able to walk downtown every day and enjoy the hustle and bustle but then return to the apartment located in a very quiet neighbourhood. Being just a few minutes walk from a good sized grocery store was an extra bonus. Thanks for everything Rui!

Our place was very close to historic Porto. We could walk which was an advantage. We had a car and we were able to park very close to the suite. Lots of room- 2 bedrooms, our host welcomed us and answered all our questions. (comfy beds).

Lovely quiet retreat
Rui was a wonderful host; greeting us to orient us to everything in the flat including a few treats he provided. We enjoyed the garden for coffee in the morning and a glass of wine after a day sightseeing. It was a good walk to the main tourist area but transit is also convenient. There is a good grocery store within a short walk. The location was nice and quiet for sleeping.

House in Porto
The owner is a very nice and accommodating man. Any questions Or information required was responded to promptly. My only comment was the house is quite old and things like low water pressure and making sure all doors and windows kept shut because of cats roaming around and ready to jump in was a pain. The house is certainly livable - just expected a little more updated. Other than that it was fine.

Wonderful Holiday Stay
We had an enjoyable stay at this property. Rui is an excellent host as he provided us with some "essentials" when we first checked in (milk, oranges, wine, cheese, etc). He also brought us a lovely Christmas gift (we stayed here over the holidays) of port wine and pao de lo and even had a small Christmas tree set-up for us when we checked in. The house is as advertised. Unfortunately, we were never able to take advantage of the lovely garden in the back due to the weather.

Great Getaway Apartment
We loved the apartment. It was a perfect size and had the amenities we needed. It was a 20-25 minute walk to town and much less if we'd wanted to take the metro. We found a GREAT place for pizza 10 minutes away called Celeste. The pizza with the egg on it was fantastic!

Charming Property and Hosts
Really lovely property and the hosts were extremely accommodating. They welcomed us, gave us tickets for public transportation, showed us all the important locations on the map and made many wonderful recommendations. The amenities and thoughtful extras were beyond our expectations e.g. sun tun lotions, body creams. They went over and beyond the basic expectations. The bottle of wine and fruit were really appreciated and enjoyed. Highly recommend this property.

Une maison très agréable , conforme à l'annonce, très appréciable avec sa terrasse fermée et son jardin. Rui est un hôte très accueillant et très gentil qui fait tout pour faciliter votre séjour et qui agrémente votre arrivée avec de délicates attentions, Maison un peu à l'écart du centre ce qui favorise le calme appréciable et cependant facile à pied pour rejoindre le centre historique, et 1 métro tout près en cas de fatigue! Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour , Porto est une ville charmante , nous recommandons vivement notre hébergement et cette destination.

Une petite maison parfaite!
Une charmante maison! Un quartier très tranquille également. Si vous avez une voiture, il y a du stationnement dans la rue. À l’intérieur, tout est super propre et il y a tout ce qu’il faut pour passer un agréable séjour. Pour notre part, nous y retournons sans hésiter. Merci à Rui le propriétaire qui est super sympathique et qui s’assure qu’on passe un excellent séjour chez lui. Muito obrigado!
