We had a wonderful stay at Any Lapalu’s house.
First of all, the house was absolutely charming: beautiful, cozy, and comfortable.
We enjoyed the tranquil garden, the spacious living room, the art on the walls, the unique furniture, and the general sense of being in a home away from home. Any, a responsible and responsive host, made sure that all our needs were met. She checked in on us and provided the names of all the best restaurants in the area. Our arrival and departure were problem free.
The village of Cers also offered delights. My husband went every morning to the local friendly boulangerie, practically next door, to buy our morning bread and other delicious treats. The local bistro, Cers Bistro, deserves a visit. There we were welcomed by friendly bistro hosts and enjoyed a delicious meal. Our local supermarché offered everything you might need for your stay in France: local food, local wine, cheese, fresh fruit and good bread.
It was easy to get around by car. We visited various places of interest nearby and further afield. Great tips from the tourist offices in Béziers and Narbonne!
Having never visited this part of France, we were delighted by many surprises. It seemed like every day was better than the one before. Carcassonne, Peyrepertuse castle, Lagrasse, Peyriac de Mer, and other sights. People were also unfailingly friendly and welcoming.
