Lake Escape's Cottage on the Cove

On a quiet, nearly private cove in Terrell, NC is Lake Escape's Cottage on the Cove, a completely renovated lakefront home on Lake Norman. Beautifully landscaped 3 Bedroom ranch, with open concept Kitchen, dining, living room. The front porch is a great place to laze away the days with a cool breeze coming off the lake. The finished garage is heated and cooled and is loaded with games and space to get out of the heat or rain or just spend an evening hanging with the family away from a TV.

The Kitchen / Dining area features white quartz countertops, tiled backsplash, and stainless appliances. We have fully equipped it with quality pots, pans, flatware, dishes, serving ware, utensils, and small appliances. A large fan overhead circulates the air. The large island provides a hub and dining area for up to 8 people. Moving forward of the kitchen dining room is the living room with a grand lake view out the front window, a 65" Samsung Smart TV with Roku, and a sofa bed which opens into a queen size bed for a seventh or eighth guest.

Bedrooms feature a lake vibe with shiplap feature walls, artwork, ceiling fans, lamps, Amazon echo alarm clocks, power points on the night tables. The bedroom closets have hangers and drawers, with a hotel style safe in the master closet. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with tub - shower. The hall bathroom serves the other two bedrooms and the general area with a stall shower.

The outdoor living space is vast, with a large front porch - 4 rocking chairs, a dining table for 8, and a lovely porch swing. Down the front porch steps is space to hang, grill and enjoy the lake. For the firepit, we provide firewood, six solid Adirondack chairs circle it. Included for you use just steps away is four adult kayaks, one youth kayak, 2 stand up paddle boards, a generous selection of life vests for all sizes, and a bevy of tubes, noodles, ladder golf, Can Jam... with a large grass yard to play. There's two hammocks and tree swing to enjoy the shade. 8 extra Adirondacks stand by for extra guests.

Are you a boater? Rent a boat during your stay from Lake Effects. Bring your own boat or PWC and launch at the McCreery Public launch ramp down the road. Keep it at our private dock. Swim from the dock or wade in via zero entry lake edge. We have thought of everything so you won't need to think about anything but completely enjoying your stay.

Please be aware that the water level at the dock may not be high enough for boat access in the non-summer seasons.

Beautiful and Peaceful
This is our second year of staying here and we LOVE it! Beautiful property with all of the touches. It is in a cove with very little noise, which allowed for peaceful mornings drinking coffee on the porch enjoying the view. Thank you Jessica and Adam!!

Wonderful Stay!
Our stay at Lake Escape Cottage on the Cove was wonderful. The property owners truly thought of everything that made our stay enjoyable and effortless. The cottage was just as described and very clean. There was so much available on site for our kids. Lake toys were plentiful and the game room came in handy when we were stuck inside due to rain. The water near the dock was more shallow than others places on the lake, however we were able to put our boat on the side with the ladder and everything worked out ok. We would definitely stay at a Lake Escape property again!

Perfect getaway!
We loved that this beautiful home had everything. It was well-stocked, quiet and secluded, and full of fun activities for all ages. We used the cornhole boards, lake toys (kayaks, noodles, etc), fire pit, grill, and more. We really took advantage of the whole property! You can tell the home was not built and renovated to be just a rental — it was renovated like a real home, high quality. Beds were very comfortable, amenities were high-quality and plentiful, and common areas had lots of comfy seating.

Exactly what we needed
This was perfect! And absolutely beautiful!! There were a few things, but NOTHING that couldn’t be overlooked: the skee ball was broken, both fishing poles were broken, construction going on across the lake, and spiders and wasps!! The one thing I would suggest is a good cleaning of the lawn furniture next to the lake. They were covered in spider webs and some bird droppings. But AGAIN, it was amazing!! And VERY accommodating - they responded quickly! Will definitely stay again!

Great Property - Great Hosts
When we arrived, the property was even nicer than in the pictures. Everything is nicely updated throughout, and had all the necessary amenities for our stay. The hosts were very easy to communicate with, and responded promptly to all of our inquiries / requests! The garage game room was great for the kids, and even better for the adults when the kids went to bed! The outdoor amenities were plentiful as well. We all enjoyed the paddle boards and kayaks, and the fire pit and swing were great too. If you’re going to Lake Norman, rent this house! 10/10.

Relaxing place to decompress!
We were a group of 3 couples that decided to take a few days after a work conference to relax. We had everything we needed there - including a friendly duck that jumped on the back of the SUP! We took advantage of all that we could fit in: kayaks & SUPs, firepit, everything we needed to cook a meal, eating dinner on the porch (ceiling fans kept it comfortable), and the games. The coffee was much appreciated. The location was quiet but still close the grocery store. Would definitely rebook if back in the area!

Was a great place, near Davidson and Mooresville so escaping Charlotte traffic. Was surprisingly a lot of traffic but didn't have any issues getting into places to eat. Lovely stay right on the lake.

Great getaway

We were looking for a little change of scenery and some time on the water, and found both at this property. Frequent visits by ducks and heron were also unexpected guests. The neighborhood was pretty quiet and honestly, we saw very few people during our stay. The house was immaculate, beds were pretty comfy and the kitchen and baths were exceptionally well equipped. While we did have some difficulty with accessing our own streaming services on the TV, since we weren't there for TV viewing, it was a minor annoyance. We would return to this property again - or any of the owners' other properties as well. They were great hosts.

A Wonderful Stay Here!
My husband, our Fur Baby, and I spent four peaceful days at this lovely home. We felt very comfortable in this pretty home and beautiful neighborhood. I had brought along 2 pots for cooking and really did not have to because the kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed for cooking and baking. This was the first time we rented a vacation home and we were pleased with the cleanliness of the entire home and the picturesque surroundings. We were happy just to relax by the dock, sit on the chairswing by the lake, and read on their spacious front porch. I cooked all the meals at the house. The Publics Supermarket was very convenient... just 4 minutes away by car. Our dog was happy here too because there was enough property to walk her on and peaceful surroundings. We also enjoyed playing ping pong in the spacious game room off the kitchen.We certainly hope to return to this vacation home in the future.

Great vacation home!
Our family had such a great time in this home for the week! The house was so well stocked inside and out that we had everything we could have needed for our stay. The different size kayaks and life jackets allowed our whole family to kayak together and the location on the quiet cove was so great for the kids in the water. There were plenty of lawn games to keep everyone occupied all week. The game room in the garage was also a big hit and our kids spent the trip home trying to come up with a plan for where we could put one like it in our house. The hammocks, swings, lounge chairs, and comfortable couches in the living room gave us lots of places to relax and the beds were very comfortable. We can't wait to come back!

Amazing!
You just never know what you are renting until you get to the property, and it WAS FANTASTIC! Exactly as described on VRBO. The property was very clean, and all the extra outdoor/water toys were PERFECT and above and beyond what we expected! The yard is great when traveling with pets and all the little interior "extras" provided by the owners were greatly appreciated! My adult kids are kind of pickly and they were SO happy with my choice for them! They want to stay there again next year! Jessica was wonderful to deal with and every time I reached out to her she responded immediately! Thanks again, Jessica, for helping my family have such a great 4th of July gathering!
