The staff at the Crown Plaza were extremely helpful. The hotel was very clean and had an amazing gym and pool. The breakfast was superb, lots of choice and I would not hesitate to recommend it for a break in Chester.

Really nice location. Not too busy. Rooms were nice and warm. Linen could be better as there were iron marks and other black marks present. Staff was incredibly polite and nothing was too much. Breakfast was really nice and fresh. Only dienside was that you had to wait a while for the hot food to be topped up.

Good things: very close to Chester Town Centre and if you are lucky and you arrive early there is parking at ground level. Rooms OK size with good sized TV and fridge. Free bottles of water and very quick replacement of any missing items like hot chocolate powder. Plenty of items like tea bags / coffee. Very welcoming reception staff. There is a pool and a gym. Not so great: main entrance of the hotel is in a grim dark passage surrounded by car parks. There is a large breakfast buffet but taste was a bit boring and the little baguette piece I had was dry and tasteless. Had better and fresher baguette just going to M&S. Some items probably were simply to long under the heat lamp to keep warm as they were hard like the fried egg we had Main problem are the pool rules. Children not allowed to use any gym equipment. Not allowed to use the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi. We arrived Wednesday morning at 8:30 and were told Children are not allowed to swim before 9 am. Bizarre rule. My 10 year old daughter is in a swimming club doing competitions. Why is she not allowed to swim before 9 am ? We returned 9 am and were then told by a pensioner what water gymnastics start at 9:15 and it would be impossible to swim at the same time. So we had 15 minutes in the water and then left. I had chosen the hotel in Chester on purpose so we can look at Chester zoo and go swimming. Would not book this hotel again.

The staff were really friendly & helpful. The general hotel is really nice but quite a lot of the furniture in our room was dated and chipped. The location is really good and we had the room service breakfast which was really good and definitely worth the room service charge.

Good location but not a quiet room
Only reason marked down, we found the hotel rooms to be quite noisy compared with other locations.We had a snorer next door and kept one of us awake!

The best part of this property are the employees that make it run. I’d like to give a shout out to the kitchen staff. Especially Maria the cook, and William and Tayanne. They went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and they made us feel welcomed to the Chester community.

The cupboard door furniture was in poor repair - the handle just falls of as it is not securely fixed to the door. Like all hotels there are not enough hangers in the closet. I know I could ask for more, but I should not have to do this. Otherwise, I'm totally happy with the facilities and condition.

Stayed there following Chester marathon. Room was nice with a bath. Loads of nice touches lots of charging points in room and usb chargers. Plenty of tea coffee biscuits and bottles of water. Best thing was the staff who were all very good especially in the restaurant for dinner and a breakfast
