Weekend away
We loved the location and the rooms,we had a room overlooking the River Dee. The room looked to be clean on anrrival but around the edges was full of dust and the bathroom again just needed that little extra touch. Check in was easy and friendly. Bonus was free parking. Just unfortunate the restaurant was closed (we did know about this) Overall we would stay again.

A little disappointed
Our third visit here and although we were informed the pub was being renovated we didn't realise the extent of the building work. Scaffolding everywhere and workmen around from about 7.30am. My sheet was ripped and there were rubbish bags outside our room.

Great stay
I had a lovely stay. No view of the river from room but the pub is in a beautiful situation and super location for centre of Chester. Very clean room. Great stay!

Nice hotel, need to ensure everything works
The room was well styled though absolutely boiling. The heater was on 25 degrees and you could not stay in there. We had to leave the doors open and come back later. It wasn’t much cooler. Also Unfortunately the rooms television was broken. We notified reception on check in, they replied there was an issue with all television across the hotel. This was a lie. We had friends in four other rooms and all had television. I expect a television as a part of an expectation in a room these days. Especially when paying the tariffs we did. I explained on check out, they said that they would now get it fixed, though on check in the staff member knew it was an issue. I do expect a deduction should be offered as we were sold it with a tv as part of the package. Breakfast was very tasty. And staff friendly.

Lovely hotel, bedrooms really tastefully decorated, nice touch with tea and coffee would like to see some decaf, toiletries in bathroom, bed and pillows comfy, could just do with a bit more attention to detail in terms of cleaning. Food in the pub is of an excellent quality, great choice and friendly staff. Not keen on the floor being mopped whilst eating my breakfast as all I could smell was the cleaning products! Pub looking a bit shabby but understand it’s due for an upgrade, hope it doesn’t put the prices up as they feel just about right at the moment. Would definitely stay again.
