Hotel cancelled mine reservation last min
Due to facility issue the hotel cancelled my reservation the day before my intended stay, which is New Year’s Eve. They did provide an alternative option for accommodation. But the main reason for me to book here is it is by the water and the alternative one is 20 min walking to the water so I turned down the offer. Because the free cancellation period was over I was charged by and later refunded by the alternative hotel so there is no financial loss.
However this late notification did cause me much time to work out a plan with this hotel on the payment issue and book another stay. Spotty data and wifi and language barrier made this more time consuming where I was when this happened. The hotel’s phone numbers (two listed at their website and one with hotels.com) cannot be reached. My communication with the hotel was via the hotels.com link, for within I had to constantly check to see if a reply was available. The manger was very polite in the email which made me feel better, but overall I was still quite disappointed as by then, in New Year’s Eve the cost of booking a waterfront property has gone up so much that was out of our budget.
