Walkable to temples. But limited buses to train station.
This hostel was very nice! It is conveniently located near the bus/train station (walkable) and lots of places to eat. It was quiet and there was a kitchen to use as well and comfy hang out spots. Would stay again!
The staff were so welcoming! It’s a chill atmosphere with clean, quiet and comfortable rooms and a nice, large common space. They have signs saying things like “welcome home” and waffle mix for you to make your own waffles- very nice touches.
Nice hostel with helpful staff that is very informative about attraction and food recommendations. 5 min walk to chiayi railway. There is a ktv, a family mart, pharmacy and 7-eleven right below the hostel. The breakfast place provided by the hostel was also cosy and good.
Good location and service. I stayed for a night before going to Alishan. This is my second time to stay in this hostel and I’ll recommend it to all friends going to Chiayi.
Actually it's quite satisfactory living there, considering its price and the services offered.
+The room is spacious enough for 4 adults or 3 adults plus 2 children.
-However, I don't think the staff there that friendly comparing other reviews.
-So much noice, you can hear whenever people walk outside your room.
Second time staying here. 10 minute walk from the Chiayi train station. Lots of local restaurants in the alleys nearby. I stayed in a private room. The room itself was comfortable. It was clean, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was a bit odd. I got some coupons to a local restaurants. Last time I stayed, they had waffles, fruit, and bread. Wonder if it changed or if it was because I booked a private room.
The owner seems to take a lot of pride in the hostel and it is a good place to stay. You can tell the effort that he put into maintaining it.
They seem to have expanded since I last came. They now have a section on the 6th floor whereas the main section is on the 14th floor. This may be a problem if you cannot sleep with the street noise. This is Taiwan, so the streets are noisy with scooters. 14th floor didn't have this problem, but the 6th floor did. So bring earplugs just in case.
The hostel is located in a Taiwanese apartment building . This means no insulation and no heat (I live in Taiwan, and this is standard building practice in most buildings) . The room has AC, but if going in the winter, be advised to bring something warm to sleep in. I found the room a little cold even with the thick blanket they provided.
It felt like being in a camp fire with friends. One of the friendliest hostels with a lot of activities lined up throughout the week. Do try to make an effort, these guys and gals are a lot of fun.
good location just a few minutes away from Chiayi train station and the staffs were really friendly and helpful. will definitely stay here again for my next visit.
Stayed for 3D2N. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. It felt really comfortable there. Informations were also provided upon arrival and they had everything you need. From bus schedules to the best food of the area. Possibly one of the best hostels I stayed in Taiwan. Will come back again!
Hostel themed from the movie Kano. The owner took a lot of care to put details into the place.
They keep the place clean. I think they have a washing machine, but I didn't use it. In accordance with local customs, they don't have a dryer, but they could probably direct you to a laundry place. The sheets are changed quite frequently.
They provide something to cook with. Since this is Taiwan, and buildings in Taiwan don't really have kitchens, the owner did a good job compromising to install a kitchen.
This is Taiwan, so everything is smaller. I stayed in a dorm and the shower / bathroom is really small.
Most of the people staying are Taiwanese, Chinese or Japanese. Doesn't seem a place to meet new people and go out if that is what you are looking for in a hostel.
They offer bike rental, but one speed. Good for riding around the city. Security is good. I thought the staff were hospitable and friendly.
10 minutes or less walk from the train station. 15 minute walk from the night market. 7-11 close by. Two grocery stores in walking distance.
They offer a small locker for your valuables.
