The room was very comfortable, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom lighting was very helpful as it was bright enough to actually see what I was doing and the shower had excellent pressure. It would be helpful to have more space on the counter for toiletries that I bring, but this hotels space was pretty standard. The air conditioner worked very well and thermostat was easy to use The only issue I had at all was that the television did not work for the entire stay, but that was a hotel wide problem and they gave a generous discount for that upon check out.

Good- staff inside was incredibly friendly! Check in was a breeze and you do a self check in at a kiosk and create your own room key. They have water fill up stations on every floor up to the 24th which was very convenient. The pillows are SO comfortable it was the best sleep I’ve ever had! It’s right across the street from the riverwalk and there’s a lot going on at all times around the area so you can just park and walk around the whole time! Bad: Valet was horrendous! They service multiple hotels on that block so be prepared to wait! They told us 15 minutes but it was closer to an hour and every time we went out to check they told us 5 more minutes. Not only this they clearly don’t care about your vehicle. While we were waiting to go check in a car backed up into a Lamborghini and drove away. Two of the valet drivers froze for a minute and then finally went to check on the car. (Luckily there was no damage) so they just visably shrugged their shoulders and walked away. Also if you stay here DO NOT pay the 28 dollars for parking. They still charge your room $53 anyway 2nd - the room looks NOTHING like the pictures when you book. I wish I could submit my photos and videos I took. Our room that we paid over $200 for plus the $100 security deposit was the size of Harry potters bedroom under the stairs! It was a walk in closet with a bed inside. You could touch all 4 walls from the comfort of your bed. Sound on the TV cut in and out and the picture froze every 7 seconds.

Staff extremely friendly & helpful with only one small issue. Location is world class, you’re literally in The Mix. Rates for River Hotel is absolutely a bargain. Would suggest they hand out Towel & toothpaste at front desk. Asked & they said they would have someone deliver both. Upon return 8 hours later neither had arrived after 2nd request only towels delivered. We stayed an extra day & declined clean up service but asked for towels. Would advise anyone to accept clean up which will insure clean towels. There is no extra cost. Their help with directions & overall pleasant attitude far out weigh the above & would stay again without hesitation & recommend to our friends.

Let the parking policy improve. When I left the hotel after checking out I went to the parking lot present the ticket validated by the hotel and ended up paying 65$

The suite was outstanding. Plenty of room for the four of us. Only view out the window was the building next door but we were in the middle of Chicago. Location was fabulous for accessing the Riverwalk and restaurants.

We booked the River View, not knowing that it is only single pane glass and the noise from outside sounded like every night there was a party going on in your room, had to buy ear plugs to sleep. Asked for more coffee pods when they ran out and received none for 2 days. The room is very dated and the TV worked intermittently. Only one elevator was working which was very inconvenient, it could take upto 5 mins to get to your floor, however, safer than the steep steps instead. The road outside the hotel was incredibly busy until 2-3am on the morning too, which makes the noise from sirens and people pulling up outside very frustrating when trying to sleep. Would not stay there again

The River Hotel has excellent location, and a very good staff. Those are my 2 biggest takeaways. They have water stations, which are very handy. Our room had an odd layout, and the bathroom was small and needed some work. The elevators are also slow. But overall, I recommend this hotel.
