Imagine a scene of tumbling hills, patchwork countryside and bluebell woods. Nestled in that landscape is a town full of honey-coloured architectural gems, authentic pubs and great shops. Here you'll find the Old Studio. It's the perfect accommodation for a relaxing couples retreat, an ideal family-friendly base for touring all the nearby sights or a cosy meeting point for old friends.
The Old Studio is a beautiful Cotswold stone detached cottage with plenty of space to comfortably accommodate 4 people.
Owned by an artistic couple, the property underwent an extensive renovation in 2021.
The aim was to create a holiday cottage that felt more like a luxury boutique hotel. Particular attention has been paid to the quality of the beds (Vi-sprung), upholstery (George Smith), and shower (Fired Earth). The interior is light and airy, and good-quality, natural materials have been used throughout.
From the front door, you walk into a light-filled, open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. The kitchen is well-equipped with plentiful cutlery, crockery, and glassware. There's a lovely shower room downstairs with a spacious cubicle and a good-quality powerful shower. There's also a small utility room with a washing machine.
Upstairs are two bedrooms, a small family bathroom and a study area on the landing. The rooms are furnished with Vi-sprung beds and have wooden Venetian blinds at the windows.
Please be aware that, like most Cotswold cottages, the bedrooms have been built into the eaves of the building and have restricted head height in some areas.
Large French doors in the living room open out to a sunny paved dining area with a dining table and four chairs. Outdoor seating is also available for guests' exclusive use in the shared garden. Secure off-road parking for one car and free road parking are available.
Small, well-behaved dogs are welcome. However, they must not be left alone in the property or allowed to climb onto the furniture.
Helen and Michael live at the other end of the garden. They aim to strike a happy balance between being available to give advice and assistance when needed, while also giving guests plenty of privacy to enjoy a relaxing holiday
The setting is in a secluded part of Chipping Campden, away from the hustle and bustle of the High Street but within a few minutes walk of all its' amenities. The town is well provided for with many restaurants, cafes, pubs and a good selection of local shops including excellent delis and a couple of small supermarkets. We also enjoy a wide variety of galleries and buildings of historical importance. Campden is a well-located town within an easy drive of Cheltenham, Bath, Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and Oxford. It's in the heart of the English Cotswolds, designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Helen and Michael hope you have a fantastic stay in the Cotswolds! There's plenty to do, and they're available to advise you if you need help.
If you have a passion for art and creativity, you'll find inspiration in visiting Helen's studio next to the cottage. You can explore a variety of her work and engage in conversation with her about her artistic process. You might find yourself motivated to participate in one of her creative workshops. The Muse Within - A two-day creative workshop based in the Cotswolds
As kids, we joyfully wield crayons, drawing whatever sparks our imagination. This joy of creativity is a powerful force that can continue to inspire us as we grow up. However, as we navigate the complexities of adulthood, this joy can sometimes fade, we become acutely self-conscious, and our art can become more about technical exercises rather than expressing ourselves.
Rediscover the joy of self-expression through art. Join artist Helen Bainbridge for a series of gentle and thought-provoking exercises to enhance your artistic skills and jump-start your journey of creative growth.
