East Cottage, CHURCH STRETTON

East Cottage is a charming Grade II listed semi-detached cottage in Church Stretton. It has a double room with en-suite bathroom and two twin bedrooms. There is a family shower room, and a ground floor cloakroom. The kitchen has a breakfast area, and the sitting room has a dining area and cosy gas fire. Outside is off road parking for two cars, and a front patio area with a table and six chairs. East Cottage is a wonderful base for families, friends or walkers to enjoy the town and its beautiful surroundings.

Amenities: Gas central heating with gas stove in sitting room. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, WiFi. Fuel and power, bed linen and towels included in the rent. A travel cot and highchair are available on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Enclosed front patio garden with furniture and views towards Long Mynd. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops and pubs 2 mins walk.

Region: A E Housman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Town: Church Stretton is a pretty market town in the heart of rural south Shropshire. Described as "Little Switzerland", Church Stretton is surrounded by stunning scenery and is the major part of Shropshire's hill country. The town offers a good selection of pubs, tearooms, and specialist shops, as well as other attractions including fantastic walking opportunities on the Long Mynd; the fascinating Acton Scott Working Farm, and the ancient Stokesay Castle. Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Ludlow, Much Wenlock and Bishops Castle are all historic local towns with much to offer to visitors, and they are all an easy drive away from Church Stretton, as are the beautiful Welsh Borders.

Lovely relaxing break

We had a lovely stay at East Cottage. The cottage is lovely, clean and well equipped. The location is perfect, very peaceful and just a few minutes walk to Church Stretton with coffee shops, nice quirky shops and pubs. We arranged for a food delivery from Asda for when we arrived which worked well for us and there is a large Co-op around a 10 minute walk away for any top ups required. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A very enjoyable weekend

At first we had a little difficulty finding the cottage, but it was in a very well placed for the town.My friend and I went to a workshop in All stretton, so we thought we would make a long weekend of it and found East Cottage on Vrbo site. David and Gill the owners, were very accomadating to my needs as i have a disability. The cottage is very roomy and comfortable. It met our needs very well. It was well equipped and warm.

Wonderful Cottage

East Cottage is in the perfect location for exploring the area on foot and by car. Lots of walks from the doorstep. It has everything you need and is so cosy and welcoming, a real home from home. We loved it. The owners have really thought of everything.

Lovely warm terraced cottage in a small cul de sac that is out of the way but within 4 minutes walk of village centre. A well equipped kitchen with a utility room that we found ideal for drying wet outdoor clothing. The cottage was spacious with good storage. The cottage is much larger than I had anticipated. It’s very central to the town but also gives easy access to the Long Mynd. It’s very clean and warm with comfortable furnishings and a well-appointed kitchen. Perfect for our family needs!

Fantastic property in an amazing location

The property was spacious, beautifully clean and very well equipped. We were able to walk from the doorstep straight onto several walking routes. The local deli provided delicious lunch options. We would definitely return here. Highly recommend.

A very good place to stay

We very much enjoyed staying in the cottage, which we found very clean and well equipped. The cottage was in an ideal location with easy parking. The welcome pack of cake and biscuits was also much appreciated. The only thing we wondered was whether it would be useful to have some hooks in the boot room for wet coats as there's more room in that area when coming in from the rain, (of which there was, unfortunately, quite a bit), than in the front door. We also found the sound coming from the TV to be a little muffled and unclear, though this could be due to our imperfect hearing. All in all, an excellent place to stay and we would happily return.

Pretty cottage in beautiful location
