Beautiful B&B, we had amazing time there! Historic building is well located, right in the old town. You can walk anywhere, great area. Rooms are very big with super high ceilings. Bathroom is also roomy, very nicely decorated. We found the whole building very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast is in a beutiful room, you get everything you need in the morning. Monteo (owner) is very helpful and caring. I travelled with my 2 children from US, and he made our stay very comfortable.

Lost of character
Definitely recommend, great little place with lots of character. Feels like you really are in Italy, you don't get that with many of the chain hotels. Also within easy working distance of the old walled city. Mateo the host is great.

Mattel was very welcoming and helpful. Carrying our bags, ordering a taxi and providing a map. The 16th century building is beautiful. Quiet room overlooking the courtyard.

The perfect base for visiting Bergamo
We chose to stay at this place when visiting Bergamo for a long weekend with friends and it was a great choice. The Antica Dimora is a bit outside of the High Town of Bergamo - 15 minutes walk or so - but benefits from being away from the bustle but well placed for both the older High Town and the well worth visiting Lower Town. The Antica Dimora is a small place full of charm and the host, Matteo, was really helpful. The breakfast was great and the rooms spacious and quiet, ours being on the inner courtyard side.

Incredibly charming and classy.
We stayed for one night in the royal suite and could not be happier. Mattheo is wonderfully helpful and service-minded in a genuine and subtle way,- allowing us space and autonomy. Very refreshing! The House is dreamy and wonderfully decorated and it really does succeed in bringing you back in time. Breakfast was delectable, served buffet-style in a quiet, gorgeously painted ball-room. We have rated this place highest rank, not because the standard of the rooms reflect an objective 5-Star rating, but because this place is truly special and unique and our experience was nothing but excellent.

Nice B&B Experience.
This is a bed and breakfast facility that differs quite a lot from a larger city hotel. It has a somewhat homey feel, not a shiny crispness. Our room in this historic palazzo was spacious, the bed comfortable and the furnishings antique and well maintained. The breakfast room is beautiful and first-rate with murals on the walls and very fine table settings. The cold breakfast buffet was very good. Most of the historic interest in Bergamo is in the upper old town. The good restaurants we ate in were also "up top". The walk to Bergamo Alta from this hotel takes about 30 minutes and is all uphill. We made the trek three times in two days and rode up once in a taxi. We were jubilant on our last walk down that it would be our last. You might consider a taxi, at least going up, even though they are a little hard to come by in Bergamo.

Historical setting in a great location.
We did not expect a private courtyard with parking facility. That was extremely helpful fir we had 2 large suitcase. It's location is a short walk to both old and new towns. With just 4 rooms, Antica Dimora felt atmospheric with beautiful painted rooms and large frescos that adorn ceilings and walls. The breakfast room was wonderful and the continental breakfast buffet was more than sufficient to set one up for a day of discovering the city. Host was helpful and pleasant, he was on hand to assist with needed information and wasn't intrusive.

A beautiful palazzo to stay in.
The palazzo which houses Antica Dimora is beautiful and tastefully furnished. It was quiet and peaceful, yet within easy walking distance of the sights in Bergamo, particularly Citta Alta, the old city. Matteo, the owner was very friendly and helpful, booking restaurants and taxis for us when needed. The breakfast buffet was very good, offering a range of items to suit all tastes.

Quiet B&B with a bit of history
I was in Bergamo for three nights on the way back from an Erasmus project in Naples and went north thinking it would be cooler than spending time in Naples - unfortunately I was wrong about that! Despite the heat Bergamo was a lovely city to visit, relatively quiet, wonderful views (at the expense of being hilly which is a trial in the heat), with masses of history, and the Antica Dimora fitted right into the experience. The Antica Dimora is not actually in the old city but in one of the old city's suburbs. This should not make you think it is new - the street is still around 500 years old, they had suburbs outside the city walls in the Renaissance too! And although the ambience of the B&B was not quite that old (more like 18th Century) for a lover of history who does not have a vast budget this was pretty much perfect for me. Check in and out was very simply and straightforward. The room was big, clean and comfortable, and had air conditioning - being a thick walled old building did not get too hot while the street was quiet enough that I could leave the window open overnight without noise being an issue. Breakfast was decent and Matteo was nice, courteous and spoke good English. I would certainly stay at the Antica Dimora if I am to visit Bergamo again.

Absolutely fabulous
I initially chose to stay at Antica Dimora because I found the photographs of the place enticing. I braced myself for potential disappointment because photos can be misleading sometimes; I was pleasantly surprised to find the room and the B&B even better than the photos. The decorations on the wall and ceiling made me feel as if I was enjoying an aristocratic life. The amenities were great and all up to date. The breakfast was reasonable. Matteo, the host, was really kind and fantastic, explaining the history of the house as well as providing useful tips for exploring Bergamo. I’ll definitely come back to stay there when I visit Bergamo again!

Magnificent Italian Palazzo, Great Location!
The Antica Dimora in Bergamo was our base for a perfect three day city break. The beautiful and historic palace has been sensitively restored by the owner with great attention to detail. Rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious with the high ceilings that we love, and we were fortunate to have the Vittoria suite with wonderful frescoes overhead. The breakfast room is stunning with both wall and ceiling frescoes. The seating is comfortable with white fabric chairs complementing the white linen tablecloths to give a feeling of sumptuous luxury. During our stay (in early December) the room was further enhanced by a large Christmas tree with tasteful decorations. The food and drink available from the buffet table was of high quality with something for almost every taste. The owner was courteous and helpful in every way and we enjoyed unusual dishes at the restaurant recommended to us. The checkout time was well ahead of our return flight but we were able to leave luggage to be collected at our convenience.

Stunning B&B in a great location
We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Antica Dimora. This is no ordinary B&B - it is stunning and very romantic palace. In a great location, Antica Dimora is beautifully decorated and very clean. The 4 bedrooms are large and romantic with frescos on the high ceilings. The dining room is amazing with lovely fresh pastries, fruit and traditional Italian breakfast served every morning. The owner Matteo is so courteous and helpful. On request, he suggested places to eat and booked us a table, printed train timetables out for us and made us so welcome. Bergamo is well worth a visit and we would highly recommend Antica Dimora and we hope to back again soon.

Charming B & B
If you want to stay somewhere that is not a run of the mill corporate hotel and want something with character and a personal welcome, this is the place. Historic building with wonderful large rooms and high ceilings. The manager could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.

Great unique historical B&B
Bergamo is a great place for a weekend break. Classic renaissance buildings, view and museums alongside many good restaurants.Worth a special mention is the Academia Carrara art gallery with its world class collection of Italian art. The only negative was the museums are closed on Mondays
