The hot water in the shower was impossible to regulate. It took forever to adjust and when I finally got it right, the hot water would instantly become scalding hot and I would have to start all over again. Checked out early due to this problem and am awaiting refund for last night.

High prices for food and beverages are a negative, limited menu and some of the few items not available. Chose a grilled 3 cheese sandwich, would never order again - way too much bread for amount of cheese and very little taste.

Holiday problems

This is a great hotel with wonderful people but, I went on Christmas day and the person working did not know how to handle a third party reservation. So, she erased my reservation and then "made me a new one " that charged me again. Taking multiple charges out of my account and leaving me stuck with no spending money while I was there. It takes 5-10 business days to get the money back into my account. It was frustrating but luckily I am fairly chill and they were so polite and apologetic. It was a problem that the poor lady they left alone on Christmas was not trained properly to run things on her own. Will I go back? Yes, probably, I stayed in the past and it was great. Now the remodel makes it even nicer.

The hotel is going through a full renovation and rather than isolating a section of the property so that current hotel customers can have a safe and comfortable stay, the entire place is in upheaval. And there was no notification provided by Expedia. Adding insult to injury, Expedia offered a higher price room with a terrace but the hotel stated that all rooms are the same price and that they do not honor terrace requests.

They were remodeling the property, it was so bad that it should be closed down. No traveler would be happy to stay there under those conditions. Close down, remodel then reopen, impossible to do at the same time. This is a major remodel and was very unsafe for the customers.

Problems

The renovations caused some real,problems. The check in was so noisy, we had trouble communicating . Then the only elevator we could use would not open and we had to use the stairs. Very inconvenient for whe. You are in your seventies. I turned off the heat because the fan made such a loud noise, I couldn’t sleep.

I do a lot of traveling and I have to say what really stood out here was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I was there 5 days and 4 nights and I felt like I was leaving a lot of friends when I left. They are currently remodeling so I can't comment on future facilities but it was still okay. Short walk to a new shopping area full of great food and shops. I will go back.
