Lovely out of the way hotel. Stop over on a long business trip and was very happy to find this charming residence. Helpful staff as my grasp of the French language is somewhat limited. Chef was ill on our night, so couldn't sample the wares, but local restaurants only 5mins away by car. Room was nice and bright, though could certainly benefit from air conditioning as was very warm. A fan was provided. Would certainly stay again.
The hotel was very nice, clean through out. all staff were very helpful. As the hotel is an old chateau, there was no air conditioning, we asked at reception if they could provide a fan and we had one in our room within an hour. Breakfast was buffet style, limited but good. It was an easy 5-10 minute drive into the centre of Cognac.
The bartender/waiter was so interesting. He took time to proudly tell us the history of the chateau. The bar and restaurant are beautiful. One can purchase the estate's pineau. Lovely stay!
The Domains du Breuil is a charming older hotel. Don't let the exterior appearance deter you as the large rooms are comfortable and clean and the helpful staff was delightful to deal with. The entire property was scenic and serene. Did not have the breakfast but the dinner and service was first class. Would gladly stay here again on any future visits to Cognac. It is a bit of a distance from the city centre and a car is probably best but the location makes for a quiet and peaceful stay. The bar also has a great selection of cognacs for those who appreciate the eaux de vie.

It is OK but do not eat there!
Restaurant is not an good pick! The water could be hotter.
Beautiful old fashioned charm, friendly staff, great views. The room was clean but a bit small, could do with air conditioning and windows that open without moving furniture. Overall a very pleasant stay and a refreshing change from the more corporate styled hotels.
We stayed there one night before going to Paris. The hotel is a charming old mansion overlooking beautiful grounds. The staff was very friendly. This is an older home; circa 1850 with no air conditioning, but it was still quite comfortable.
We had a romantic dinner in the hotel restaurant. The dining room was elegant and the food was fantastic. This hotel is a great find, especially for the price! We wish we could have stayed longer. We are looking forward to returning.

Charecterful Chateau with gret staff.
Stopped here for the night during a motorbike tour through france. Plenty of character, beautiful grounds. Safe and quiet.
Rooms a bit dated but perfectly clean and comfortable with good showers.
The main guy on site was incredibly informative about cognac and wine and talked to us for ages during dinner in fluent English.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Beautiful place in beautiful surroundings.
Great place in beautiful and quiet surroundings. A short drive from the major Cognac houses. A stunning old building with large comfortable guest rooms. This is place has character that most standard hotels lack. We loved it!
The hotel is in a nice, characterful building - a private chateau - and our (deluxe) room had a great view overlooking the woods and nearby fields. The proprietors are very friendly and helpful. Dinner wasn't available on the (national holiday) day we stayed, so can't comment on the restaurant. It's also a dog (and other pet) friendly hotel - vital to us. Would certainly stay there again.
This is a lovely converted manor house which could use a bit of an exterior renovation to the main Hotel. The interior has been modernised (for better/worse depending on your opinion) into spacious rooms with two flat screen televisions, whirlpool baths, and theme lighting. The room contains a mini-fridge and kettle. Stylish swimming pool available between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., reasonably priced restaurant, and huge Cognac bar (tastings are available), the Hotel also works with the neighbouring distillery to offer Domaine du Breuil Cognac and Pineau Charentes (which is well priced compared to the big name houses). Very quiet leafy location, the hotel grounds are unspoiled parkland with views over a Vineyard. Located on the outskirts of Cognac (a long walk to the train station) through a not so picturesque residential area. Great place to get away but suited more to those with cars if you want to see the sights of Cognac and the surrounding area.
The hotel is about 30 minutes walk from the centre, but it's ideal for those who like to have chateau experience. There's a great cognac bar right behind the reception with a selection of over 150 cognacs including the rare ones. So if you are tired from driving, just have a dinner in the hotel and relax in the bar afterwards. The staff is very friendly and happily telling you about cognacs, the difference between different brands and production.
A wonderful old Chateau that at first site, one would judge as not being in the first flush of youth. Nothing has changed for decades. Then you meet the owners - a most delightful couple who immediately make you feel welcome and special. A wonderful stay. Comfortable room, excellent staff, a good restaurant and most important, a happy relaxed atmosphere. I will visit again soon.
Our 3 night stay at Domaine du Breuil this September was wonderful. The staff were very attentive and helpful, giving us a map of the town, a brief history of Cognac and the role of the Chateau and the way cognac is blended. The grounds were lovely and would have been more so had the weather been a little kinder so that we could have used the pool. Being just a 15 minute walk into the old town made this hotel an ideal place to stay and the food was amazing.
After staying in typical city hotels for the last 10 days, it was a special treat to go to a real French hotel with lots of character and charm. Our only regret is it was raining so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor accommodations.
This hotel was an amazing a d surprising breath of fresh air in cognac. The staff was very professional and friendly. The surroundings a real treat. I only wish we could have stay longer even if the town of cognac was a bit of a disappointment the hotel made up for it. We highly recommend it.
The front desk staff were incredibly helpful. The room was gorgeous. A spa tub with multi color lights. The fixtures were chic and I loved everything about this room.
The hotel restaurant was amazing. I had some of my best meals here. The service is good and the hotel area is outside of town so it's amazingly quiet.
The only slight drawback is that it's a bit of a hike from town but the hotel will gladly call you a taxi and the problem is solved.
Breakfast is a generous buffet with both hot & cold items.
The weather was hot during my stay but the room was still comfortable. The town is incredibly friendly & in hindsight I should have stayed longer.
