I was thoroughly disappointed with the service during my recent stay in the Apartment Hotel Cologne. Prior to my arrival, I specifically requested a parking space, which was acknowledged by the hotel. However, upon arriving late in the evening, I was informed by the reception that due to some local events, the hotel parking was fully booked. The staff at reception insisted they were under no obligation to inform me of this in advance and simply suggested I search for street parking or check a nearby sports center. The issues didn’t stop there. The next morning, the breakfast was served for an hour shorter than the hotel’s stated timing, something we were not informed about. By the time we and some other guests arrived, the staff had already started clearing dishes and had even switched off the coffee machine. Despite having prepaid for breakfast, no explanation was given, nor was any effort made to remedy the situation. Overall the staff both in the kitchen and at reception were rude and uncooperative in this situation. Cologne is a lovely city and we enjoyed our time there, but the hotel’s service fell far below expectations.

Spacious and Comfortable Room with Everything
We LOVED this hotel. We booked two rooms: one for my husband and I, and one for our teenagers. The beds were comfortable. The rooms are large. Having a laundry was important to us since we were on a multi-city journey using minimal luggage. The laundry is an efficient washer & dryer combo where you put a load in, put in the detergent tablet (not provided), and set it to wash and dry. It is located in the mini-kitchen area of the room. Instructions were provided in English. It took about 3.5 hours for a load to complete the wash and dry cycle. The breakfasts were great with lots of options for breads, eggs, bacon or sausage, yogurt, fruit, juice, a coffee machine that had hot chocolate, etc. The service at both the front desk and the breakfast area were great with friendly English-speaking staff. They stored our luggage after checkout until we left the city later that day. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from the Messe Deutz train station, which is one train station away from Koln Hbf. We usually walked into the Cologne old town area, even to the chocolate museum, which is 1.5 miles away. We used the gym, which was nice, but not the pool nor sauna. If we ever make it to Cologne again, we will choose this hotel. I will look for this chain in any future travels we may have in Europe.

Very good hotel in good location. Sauna and Swimming pool area was really nice and very good breakfast. Very good quality room and bathroom. Please visit the steakhouse which is about 2-3 mins walk away from hotel.

Modern City Centre Apartment Hotel
Modern apartment style hotel located opposite Cologne's exhibition centre in the city centre (east side of river). Room excellent. Large with full height windows. Comfortable big bed. Modern bathroom with great shower. Kitchen facilities (we only used the fridge). Safe in cupboard. Large TV with English channels. Car park accessed directly to hotel - separate charge for parking (expensive). Immediate local area had limited facilities, but short walk to rail station (which has food sellers) and access to S-Bahn.

Adina Hotel in Köln is a Must
Stayed for two day trip to Köln booked last minute and found a great stay with new amenities and air conditioning with great friendly staff. Pool and sauna were a plus as well the hotel was located very close to many great attractions and restaurants / bars. If I could give six stars I would.

A welcome respite.
Good size apartment with a washing machine which was very welcome. The floor of the bathroom was heated also. The apartment was clean and welcoming. It would be appreciated if wash cloths were provided in the kitchen for wiping bench tops etc. Situated a short walk to the train station.

Good for families. Rooms a good size and nice facilities. Everything you need, fridge, dishwasher, washer/dryer, stove. The pool isn't big but large enough for 5/6 people at once. Not very warm though. Very close to the s Bahn and you can easily walk into downtown. Staff were super friendly!! Downside was the shower clogged easily flooding the bathroom, handles coming off cupboards, lots of hanging space but only 5 hangers! Very little storage space, we had to keep clothes in our luggage. There was no plug for the sink in the kitchen, dishwashing liquid or tea towel making washing up unnecessarily difficult on departure day. Overall I think it was over priced for what you get. But apartment style hotels with a pool are hard to find.
