The Woodburn Bungalows-Four bedroom

The Woodburn Bungalows is a turn of the century, renovated home and has everything you need to feel cozy and comfortable.

This 4-bedroom, 1 bathroom home was built in 1924 and is called a "story-and-a-half", which means is that each bedroom is on a different level. The main level features the kitchen, living room, dining room, and one bathroom. *Please note: the bathroom includes a deep soaking tub and a shower. For some with mobility issues, the soaking tub can be a challenge. However, it is lined with non-slip mats and the 2 steps leading into the tub also have non slip liners.* The gourmet kitchen has a pot filler faucet next to a six-burner gas stove. It also includes new stainless steel appliances, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, and all the utensils, cookware, and spices you need for a home-cooked meal. The remodeled bathroom has a deep soaking tub.

Each bedroom has its own level. Two bedrooms have a short flight of stairs going up from the main level and two bedrooms have a short flight of stairs going down from the main level. Each bedroom has a queen bed. The garden-level queen room has French doors opening to the patio.

Downstairs is a spacious utility room with a new, front-loading washer and dryer. The owner supplies laundry soap, fabric sheets, an iron and ironing board for your convenience.

This home is the perfect getaway for family and friend getaways, business/conference events at The Broadmoor, and other events such as The Fallen Fireman Memorial. Whether you want to stay for 3 nights or 30, we would love to have you! For stays longer than 30 nights, please inquire! Book for 7 nights and receive a 15% discount!

Great little family home
Came into Colorado springs for Thanksgiving. This was a great place to stay. Nice and clean. Very spacious. There were 8 of us in the house and never felt crowded. Plenty of extra towels pillows and bedding were available. The kitchen was well stocked for any cooking or baking needs. The property was well kept and there was a decent sized dog run for the fur babies. Great neighborhood, never felt unsafe or sketchy, and there are deer that wander the streets in the morning and evening. My only complaint would be the bathroom situation. There's only one, which of course I knew going in, but the shower only has a clear glass wall, a curtain covering the bathtub would be nice for families to shower while someone else needs to use the restroom or brush teeth etc. with 8 people in there it gets a little difficult to manage. But overall great place. I 100% would recommend and would book again.

Great hosts.
So I will start out with the good stuff first. House was nice Nice kitchen and dining room table so you could cook and eat there if you wanted to save some money very close to lots of restaurants and gas stations grocery store many of them you could walk to . Check in was super easy had no issues there. There was plenty of trash bags, dish detergent and soap things like that that you normally get shorted on and some other rentals . The issues I had were many of the other people have had and I guess I should’ve maybe read all the reviews first. I was under the impression that all of the bedrooms had their own air-conditioning unit, but only the two upper bedrooms did two lower bedrooms did not have AC units the week we were there was very hot so it took all night for the house to cool off and the two lower bedrooms Got warm very quickly Once the sun started to come up. The room in the basement did have a very strong mildew smell, So that to me was a pretty big issue because we stayed for a week and I didn’t know if it was a bigger issue than just a smell. Another issue I noticed is none of the rooms with the exception of the bathroom had a lock on the door now it is a older house and I believe all the doors and knobs are probably original, but that could be issue if you had several people staying in a house or in the same room and somebody needed privacy. The host for a very quick with communication and helping solve any issues that might’ve came up, And checkout was easy.

Good stay
Our stay was overall good. The house was interesting and has a lot of historical charm. As others have said, this isn't a great choice for those with mobility issues because of the deep tub and stairs. The kitchen and bathroom were very nicely done. The mattresses, especially in the master bedroom, had a lot of wear/divots and should be replaced soon. The most important areas were clean but it wasn't spotless. The listing said there is a DVD player but we couldn't find it anywhere. We were overall satisfied for the price range. Thank you for letting us stay in your home!

Really enjoyed our time here. Beautiful bungalow. A few chairs need a repair but they work fine. Be careful if you’re over 6 foot tall as you’ll have to duck to go through some of the doors. Also the parking is great but tight if you have a large vehicle.

Absolutely a gem for our family!
I almost didn’t pick this home to stay in as I was nervous about the one toilet/bathroom for my family (6 total) and my brother and sister who would be staying but I’m glad I ignored my apprehension. I realized we really wouldn’t be spending that much time there so just being aware of each others shower/bath time preference made it a breeze. The home is very unique with each bedroom truly on their own floor which gave the right amount of privacy. My kiddos ranged from just under 2, 5, 12 and 13 as well as adding 4-adults and we managed just fine. The home is truly beautiful and clean with all the necessities of home from a full kitchen to the washer and dryer. The only part that I would give a heads up on is the beautiful bathroom. They did such a great job renovating it but the tub is a bit tricky to get out of for little kids or short folks like me. We managed just fine, but it is quite the climb in and out of. The overhead waterfall as well as handheld option truly gave me that relaxing spa feeling. The best part, that I wouldn’t have guessed was meeting amazing neighbors both in the guest house as well as directly in the neighborhood.

the parking is not so good if you have a big truck you can park on street but it is a very narrow street could not get in to back parking do to the way the drive way trees are in the way so no way for room for trucks to trun in .can not park in drive way because there is a house in back as well . good parking if you have a little car, suv only . Enjoyable stay
We enjoyed the cleanliness and charm of this 1920s craftsman house along with the updated kitchen and bathroom. The location was great for us, just a short drive to downtown entertainment in a safe, walkable neighborhood. The only thing was my husband is tall and had to duck walking through the arches and on the tight stairways. The hosts, John and Christy, were very accommodating and quick to respond. We appreciated this experience very much!

Absolutely the most adorable house
We loved everything about our stay at Woodburn bungalows. The craftsman style, the furnishings, full kitchen and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy meals in the amazing summer weather. The house is clean and well kept. Neighborhood is beautiful and quiet though has close highway access and quick easy access to grocery. We cooked every meal and enjoyed being close to every outdoor activity we took part in. 10/10 recommend.

Charming Colorado Bungalow
This rental was perfection down to the tiniest details, such as having more than enough to meet all our needs for an entire week. The exterior is fantastic for enjoying outdoor time together, and there is even a very nice grill. It was spotless, plenty comfortable on hot days, and minutes away from Garden of the gods, Manitou Springs and more. Our kids range in age from 15-23, and they ALL loved the property! We will be back for sure!

The house was just the right size for our family of four. Even though temperatures were warm outside, the individual room AC units kept it comfortable. Nice shower in the one bathroom and we were able to rotate in and out with no issues. Mattress on the bed at the top of the first stair landing could use a nice thick pad, but otherwise, no issues. Perfect little crash pad!

Wonderful time in Colorado!
This place was absolutely gorgeous. We had a set of grandparents, a 19 year old couple and adolescent brother/sister in our group. Everyone loved the house and had plenty of room. Although just one bathroom, it was really not a problem. The house was in a beautiful residential area. We were busy every day and it was great coming “home” to this house. Absolutely would stay here again. We had trouble figuring out the radiant heaters but otherwise everything was great!

This is a charming home with lots of cute lil things like the arched walkways and stained glass window. Its close to everything cool and that was also a huge plus. I did pick it in part for the big ass bathtub which was like a lil swimming pool for our 6 year old, and relaxing for the rest of us. I liked that I was able to check in and out with out having to meet anyone lol because I hate formalities. We had a good stay and I would recommend it to others!

We loved staying here! I know some people mentioned that the bathtub might be difficult for people with mobility issues... I use a scooter and have two bad knees and I didn't have a problem.... some people with different issues might, but there are handrails and steps also. I loved the huge bathtub! We took our 4 year old twin granddaughters to spend time doing fun things in the area... everything we wanted to do was close by. We will be back next year... maybe with all four grandkids next time.... plenty of room for everyone... quick response from the host the one time we did reach out... thank you, thank you!!

We had a wonderful stay here! Everything was clearly labeled and when we had questions the property manager was extremely responsive. There is only one bathroom (so we had to manage that with our teenage sons!), but the bedrooms are great and all separate/quiet, so it gives everyone room to spread out when necessary.

Not a comfortable nor enjoyable bungalow to stay for 7 days, 6 nights
Not a place I'd stay at again or recommend. A week before the trip I emailed inquiring about kitchen bakeware items, storage containers, kitchen supplies like reynolds wrap (we love to grill), cling wrap, etc. NO REPLY ever received. It was very warm the 1st week of August in Colorado Springs. A 4 bedroom household with 2 floor air condition units and those were the same 2 rooms with a ceiling fan. The other 2 bedrooms, no fan or floor air condition unit. The main floor had only 1 floor air condition unit in the very large living room at one end of the room with a floor fan to try to blow air clear across to the sitting area that clearly didn't work. The floor rugs and cloth couch needs cleaned. The dining room has a ceiling fan, but the 3 windows that forms a rectangle around the dinner table only has sheers for curtains that allowed hot sunlight in the majority of the day making it very warm starting by 10:30/11:00 AM. The kitchen has 2 windows with no curtains and sunlight coming in all day long. It was extremely hot in the kitchen all the time. The back door that you enter into the kitchen and has keypad for access is missing the threshold so there's a gap with daylight coming through the bottom along with the heat and bugs. There was also only 1 set of dishes so after every meal had to do dishes. With 4 bedrooms 8-10 people staying there, you'd expect enough dishware to get through all meals for 1 full day. No dish cloths to use for washing the dishes or wiping down the dining table or countertops. There were plenty of pots to cook with, I'll give the place that. Was excited about the place having a grill, but no grilling utensils to use for turning the food was a bit of a problem. There were also lots of wasps on the North side which was right by the grilling area. Told the lawn care helper who did nothing but said to be careful when we asked for wasp spray. Starting day 2, would get up at 5:30 AM to open windows to try to cool the household down before closing windows by 10:00 AM. I'd not recommend this place for a full weeks stay during the summer. Maybe early spring or mid to late fall would be better for controlling the households cooling issues since it isn't adequately equipped to control for comfort during hot summer days.

4th of July Weekend Stay
The overall place was nice. The biggest issue we had was certain things not being supplied-soap for the dish washer or enough toilet paper. We did get in touch with the property manager about the soap and they were quick to bring us some. We also realized there was a leak from the bathtub to the basement and they were able to have someone come and check it out and make it so we could use it for our stay quickly. Overall very good people to work with and a decent place to stay.

Great location and super cute house!
This house was pretty charming, we loved the style. Each of the 4 bedrooms is on its own level, which is a little different, but we made it work with our kids, who are 6&7. The one thing I would mention is the bathtub/shower could be extremely difficult for someone older/poor balance/disabilities to get in and out of. I suggest checking the cabinets before buying food/spices as there are already quite a bit there for you. It looks like other guests may have left some things vs throwing them away at the end of their stay. There’s also shampoo/conditioner/lotion in the bathroom. We we very close to all the things we wanted to do. Great location and great house, we’d be happy to stay again.

Cute place with issues
When we arrived we realized that the amenity listed of air conditioning was NOT central air. It was a 95 degree day and only one of the room units was set to 74. The rest were not on. The main floor is too big for the a/c unit and the rooms upstairs were hot. The other bedrooms do not have units and the room in the basement smells of mildew. Lock directions were not updated so had to leave door unlocked when we left the first day. Owner did get someone out right away, though, to check and lock door. New instructions were texted. Check out time is 1000. Housekeeper showed up at 0800 and just sat there waiting for us to leave. Uncomfortable and made us feel rushed. We were leaving by 0900 and she stayed the whole time.
