Are you feeling funky?! Well you will be when you get into the "Retro Room"! The room is super funky with décor and furnishings that'll take you back to the 70's. It's equipped with a super comfy queen bed (no, it's not a water bed!) for the most comfortable night's sleep. Be sure to pack your bell bottoms and bring your favorite 8-tracks!

Cardinal Inn is a red brick century home from the late 1800s. Since its original construction, the building has undergone several additions, resulting in the distinctive structure that stands today! Situated in downtown Cornwall, this centrally located building offers convenient access to all the amenities that Cornwall has to offer.

At Cardinal Inn, we strive to provide a truly unique experience. Each room has been thoughtfully designed to offer a distinct ambiance for your stay!

Your stay will be in the "Retro Room" located at the top of the stairs, first door on the left. This will be your dedicated and private space for your stay. The washrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room/ study, and all outdoors spaces are shared between yourselves and our other guests.

The Inn is run virtually, so we will be mostly "hands off" for your stay so that you can feel free to relax and make yourselves at home! However, should you need some information or help with an item in particular please feel free to message us in app. A member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible!

The Inn sits just north of Second St. on Adolphus St. which is neatly located within walking distance to the core downtown restaurants and amenities.

There are plenty of means of transportation for the area. Biking, Walking, Buses, Taxi, and Mass Transit are all available for your needs. Bus stops are close by for easy access.

Access to the Inn will be through the August Lock which is a bluetooth enabled lock which utilizes your smart phone as the key (pin numbers for use on the key pad also available after you have set up your account). Upon booking approval we'll send you an invite to download the app which we give you access to the property for the duration of your stay.
Please take the time to carefully review these rules as they are strictly enforced.

- CHECK-IN/OUT: Need to check in late? Need a few extra hours of sleep before departing? Ask us! We make every effort to be flexible and make your stay an enjoyable one. As long as our booking schedule allows us to accommodate different check in/out hours, we gladly will. LATE DEPARTURES WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL WILL RESULT IN A FINE OF $150 FOR EACH HOUR PASSED THE CHECK OUT TIME.

- ACCESS: Keys are not required. We use a smart lock which can be conveniently operated with your smartphone (Android and Apple apps available) for access to the building. There are also keypad locks on each bedroom door. Upon booking, you will receive a request from “August” to download the application as well as access codes for the outside doors and bedroom door(s). YOUR ACCESS WILL BE REVOKED AT THE ORIGINAL CHECK OUT TIME. Please make sure to take all your belongings with you before exiting at check out to avoid being locked out. Please keep outside doors locked at all times.

- SECURITY CAMERAS: For the safety of our guests and premises, security cameras are located throughout the common areas and outside of the inn. Rest assured that no cameras are present in any bedroom or bathroom. Impeding the function or visibility of any of the cameras in any way, including but not limited to covering the cameras, unplugging them or moving them, is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. A FINE OF $250 WILL APPLY IF THE FUNCTION AND/OR VISIBILITY OF ANY OF THE CAMERAS IS IMPEDED IN ANY WAY.

- MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY / VISITORS: We ask that you kindly respect our maximum occupancy set out in the listing. Visitors are permitted outside of quiet hours only. Should more guests or visitors be present during quiet hours without prior written approval, A FINE OF $50 PER ADDITIONAL GUEST/VISITOR PER DAY WILL APPLY.

- EVENTS / PARTIES: The inn is a fantastic location for personal and professional events. We have hosted retreats, wedding parties, masterminds, birthdays, etc. While we welcome our guests using the inn for such events outside of quiet times, loud rumbunctious parties are not permitted. If you are unsure if your function would be acceptable, feel free to reach out to us.

- PARKING: There is a private lot at the back of the building which can accommodate up to 9 vehicles. If booking only one room, you may occupy only one parking space. Should you require more parking, please inquire and we will do our best to accommodate. Street parking is also available, please obey posted signage.

- PETS: The comfort of our guests is our first priority. For that reason, we ask that you not bring your pets. We cannot risk or deny the health of those who suffer from allergies. If bringing your pet with you is unavoidable, please let us know, we have some excellent pet boarding businesses in Cornwall and would be happy to provide you with contacts. Should pets be brought to the property, we will be required to thoroughly clean the inn, which is quite costly. Therefore, A REMEDIATION FEE OF $500 WILL APPLY SHOULD PETS BE BROUGHT TO ANY PART OF THE PROPERTY.

- SMOKING: Smoking is absolutely prohibited, including but not limited to cigarettes, pipes, hookah pipes, marijuana, e-cigarettes or vaping devices. You are welcome to smoke in the backyard, within a distance of at least 9 meters from all doors and windows. We ask that you use the provided cans / ashtrays for disposal. We consider smoking indoors or near doors/windows to inherently cause damage. We also do not permit anything smelling of stale smoke to enter the inn. Therefore, THERE WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL REMEDIATION FEE OF $500 FOR SMOKING INDOORS OR CLOSER THAN 9 METERS TO ANY DOOR OR WINDOW OR IF ANY STALE SMOKE SMELL IS DETECTED UPON YOUR DEPARTURE.

- TEMPERATURE / ELECTRICITY: We kindly ask that you switch off lights when not in use. You are welcome to use the air conditioning units in the bedrooms but please turn them off or set them to 20 degrees Celsius upon departure. lease refrain from altering the heat in the building. We have preset the heat to be comfortable for all guests at any given time. Should the temperature be uncomfortable to you for any reason, please contact us to rectify the situation. You are welcome to use the fireplace when in the living room, so long as it is turned off when the living room is not in use.

- ELECTRONICS: The Wi-Fi Password will be provided to you upon booking and is also posted throughout the Inn. Please don’t share this password with non-guests. Netflix is available for your convenience. If you have any questions regarding its operation, please don't hesitate to ask us!

- SAFETY: Fire Extinguishers are located on each floor. Please memorize their locations in case you need them: The ground floor unit is located in the coat closet at the front of the Inn. The upstairs unit is in the hall closet at the top of the stairs. A first aid kit is located in the kitchen. If you use a fire extinguisher or supplies from the first aid kit PLEASE advise us so we can replenish them. If emergency services are required, please contact us as soon as it is safe to do so AFTER having contacted the appropriate authorities. If you don’t, our neighbours will – we would prefer to hear from you first.

- MAINTENANCE: If something breaks or stops working, please contact us right away. We are quite resourceful and can typically get things fixed very quickly.

- SHOES: Please remove all outdoor shoes upon entering the inn.

- FOOD: Please use the dining area for any food consumption. Eating in the bedrooms and living room is not permitted.

- FURNITURE / EQUIPMENT / LINENS: Moving any of the furniture is strictly prohibited and may result in additional cleaning charges. Damage / stains to any furniture, equipment and/or linens as well as any missing furniture, equipment and/or linens will be charged at the cost of replacement of such items. This includes using white linens for makeup removal or other staining use. Grey washcloths are provided for this purpose.

- GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING: While we do a thorough professional clean between each guest stay, we kindly ask that during your stay, you clean and put away any dishes or kitchenware used so that other guests may have access to these items as they need them as well. The dishwasher is there for your convenience and dishwasher pods are located under the kitchen sink. Hooks are provided behind each bedroom door for hanging towels to dry. Kindly leave any used towels/ hand towels/ washcloths in your room on provided hooks at the end of your stay for the cleaner to retrieve. Please do not place wet towels on the beds, furniture or floor as that will cause damage. For the comfort of all guests, please do not leave personal towels and washcloths in shared bathrooms.

- GARBAGE/RECYCLING: Please place garbage in the appropriate bins. There is a waste basket in your room as well as in the kitchen. A recycling Bin is also provided in the kitchen for recyclables.

- ADDITIONAL CLEANING / DAMAGE: Our cleaning fee is established on the basis of reasonable use of the property in accordance with these rules. Should additional cleaning be required, an additional fee of $50 per hour shall apply.

- NOISE: Our neighbours are great people and we would really like to keep them happy! We ask that you keep noise levels to a reasonable level regardless of time (especially if sharing the inn with other guests), but insist that noise levels be kept to a minimum during quiet hours (the City of Cornwall DOES ENFORCE the 11pm quiet time).
