This will be our last time booking a hotel/room from Expedia. I know they are a "third-party" but if you're like me, you find out about possible accommodations from their website, yet they take very little responsibility of your experience or in my case getting a refund, claiming that is not their role.
Our experience was so bad, we simply chose not to engage the owners as our main issue was getting the h#$#LL out of their as soon as possible.
Why am I writing this? Booking was no problem. Also, I will say the owners were pleasant in welcoming us as our arrival was late.
Upon opening the door to our room, my wife belted out, "oh! there's a roach!!!" The room was very spartan, absent a bed, so the owner opted to give us a better room.
As we went to that room and after opening the door, lo and behold another roach was present. As we tried to settle in we found a few more. As I went to the bathroom a noticed ants or some type of bugs hovering by the window.
Why didn't we just leave? We were coming off of a very tough two hour drive and figured as long as we cleaned things up, we could at least get some rest in prep for the next day.
Ever tried to sleep in one of those beds with box springs???.
I know the owners may try to make their place pleasant but my recommendation is they simply close, invest some money to tighten up the venue and get a GOOD EXTERMINATOR to deal with the variety of pest.
So for us we are one and done and wish the owners well.
