Rustic retreat at the Loon's Nest on beautiful Blueberry Lake!

Lakefront property! This quaint cabin is located directly on the water. The property is close to Hayward, Wisconsin (about a 20 minute drive) and just south of the Chippewa Flowage (where you can explore 10's of thousands of acres of lake!). Whether you visit this crystal clear lake in the summer for great fishing (abundance of pan fish, large mouth bass and northern pike), recreation (tubing, skiing, knee boarding, etc.), trail riding with your ATV/UTV, or you're just looking for a getaway, this is your place! In the winter, some of our favorite activities include ice fishing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling. This cabin is located directly on Trail #33. Whatever your desired activities are, the Loon's Nest offers a cozy, rustic retreat for your next Up North adventure! Blueberry Lake is approximately 300 acres and features a public boat launch right across the way. A dock slip is provided if you bring your own boat, or you can inquire about renting a pontoon for all or part of your stay. There is a public beach within walking distance, along with a beautiful sand bar a short trip across the lake. There is a bar/restaurant within walking distance that is open Friday/Saturday/Sunday during the summer season and known for its great smoked meats and pizza.

Fishing with my grandson
The Loon’s nest is not fancy, but it was fairly priced and perfect for my 11/ year old grandson and I to use as a base to fish the very nearby Chippewa Flowage. For us, it was fun to be 40 yards from a small bar restaurant which had horseshoes and paddle boards to keep us entertained whennnot fishing g, Has a “on golden Bpo d” old-school vibe. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

Blueberry Lake resort
The property we rented called the loons nest was just as it said it would be. We had no problems there. However, there are not two restaurants, one of them has closed permanently, and Johnny bees is only open Friday, Saturday and part of Sunday.
