Fishing trip
Place was perfect for our needs. Convenient to multiple places for trout fishing. Enjoyed the river access from the yard. Owner was really responsive and helpful!!! And we have never broken anything on any stays in the past. All in all I would recommend. Bring two vehicles so you can uses the utilize the available boats. Only thing that disappointed us was having to pay for damage insurance and putting a damage deposit. Owner tried to change but wasn't able to remove. Damage deposit was reimbursed quickly.

Perfect
My husband, our two dogs, and I recently had an unforgettable stay at this charming home on the water. The setting was everything we’d hoped for—tranquil, beautiful, and incredibly relaxing. Our boys loved having the freedom to run the extensive property, and watching them splash around in the water was a joy! My husband, an avid fisherman, was in his element, while I soaked in the peace and serenity of the surroundings. Tree branches wrestling in the wind, the sound of the rushing water, watching the fall leaves color the landscape. The location felt like home, with easy access to provisions and everything we needed nearby, but far enough away to not see other people unless you want to. The natural beauty of the camp truly sets it apart, making it a hidden gem for anyone looking to unwind. We felt like family from the moment we arrived, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit! We would give it 10 stars if we could. sound?

3 Generations visit
This was our 2nd stay at the Jackson River house. It is the best place to forget the 95° heat. The grandkids loved the kayaks and the swings. Papa and Nana liked sitting in chairs with our feet in the river. We went to Lake Moomaw-very nice and quiet. We will be back!!

Great mountain and river getaway
Beautiful rustic location on a mountain river. Everything provided for rafting, kayaking, or fishing—or just relaxing and enjoying the views. Perfect location for motorcycle riding the “Back Roads Discovery Route” with winding country roads and challenging Forest Service trails. Easy parking for our trailers. Fire pit to finish off the evenings with a campfire by the river. Great hosts with easy self check in.

Relaxation at it’s best
Two families enjoyed this lovely home on the river. With 4 teenagers and 4 adults, we enjoyed some quality, family and friend time along with relaxing moments. Extensive river-front property lent itself to unlimited fishing, a BB gun shooting range, an exciting teenage egg hunt, and moments by a campfire despite the rainy forecast. My husband and son went out and bought waiters to thoroughly enjoy river fishing. Sadly, it was too cold to enjoy the various watercraft that the property had. The home itself had a lovely sunroom and screened in porch, where you could find any one at anytime. We explored the area and my friend and I completed several hikes. The host was very helpful with suggestions prior to arrival and very prompt with responses during our trip.

Comfy Cottage by the River
Our group consists of 3 couples who have been friends for 37 years. We met up at this comfy cottage for a long weekend together. The cottage itself is very comfortable, clean, cute, and quiet. We shared a lot of time sitting together around the big kitchen table eating and playing games. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare the meals we brought. The beds were good, and everyone had enough space. The cottage is located a good distance from the road and looks out directly onto the river. We enjoyed exploring the property and having a bonfire by the river. One of our group even took a polar plunge in the river! We ventured away from the cottage to check out Island Ford Cave, Humpback Bridge, Swinging Bridge, Warm Spring Pools, Homestead Resort, some establishments in Covington, and the great walking trail that runs along the Jefferson River. The cottage is in a somewhat remote location, but is very close to lots of fun things to do. We had a great time! Mike, the owner, is very helpful with suggestions of things to do in the area, and he responds to text messages quickly. I highly recommend this property!

Beautiful getaway in the heart of Allegheny County
Mike’s cabin is a beautiful oasis in the Allegheny mountains. If you’re a fisherman, you’ll love the direct access to the Jackson River right in the backyard. Mike also includes thoughtful extras like kayaks (which we used on nearby, Lake Moomaw) and a fully equipped kitchen. He is incredibly easy to get in touch with and responds to texts immediately. We would love to stay again!

We had a great time at the house! The house was clean and cozy. Perfect for our family and dog! The river is just down the little hill from the house. We enjoyed the fire by the river at night and fishing during the day. Lake Moomaw and Falling Springs are beautiful!!! The swinging bridge is pretty cool, too! Not for the faint of heart though! We will definitely be booking there again!

Best cabin amenities I've ever seen
This cabin is truly amazing. There is a ton of river front access and it is all very well maintained. The property is huge! There were enough kayaks for me and my three friends to use without having to bring our own, so that made it even more relaxing. Inside there is everything you could ever need or ask for. I'm used to having to resupply the toilet paper and paper towels at cabins but that was never an issue. There was ample everything, which is really very rare! We fished for trout and kayaked on the Jackson River, kayaked Lake Mumaw, saw the Humpback Bridge, biked the Jackson River Scenic Trail (only a mile away), and visited Falling Springs waterfall (only 10 minutes away and absolutely stunning). I would definitely recommend this cabin for adults and children! DJ We visited 08/2022
