The Lodge in the Village of Cedral is ideal for families or couples being a private 3 bedroom home situated on over a half acre of beautiful gardens. Designed and built in 2009 the house has 3,400 square feet of living space on one level. The modern interior incorporates the concept of high 11.5 ft. ceilings, lots of natural light through skylights in corridors, kitchen and bathrooms, simple but elegant design and a mixture of furniture and interesting original paintings and Mayan art figures. Daily maid service is offered changing linen and towels twice a week.
Louvered Tropical Cedar windows throughout the house have mosquito screening. It is allows for free air flows throughout the house so one can enjoy being outside while being inside. In this unique design there are no glass windows or aluminum used. Of course the traditional tropical louvers can be closed at night in the bedrooms for air - conditioned comfort. Being in the forest the evenings are cooler and many enjoy sleeping with them open and overhead ceiling fans. All areas have overhead ceiling fans to add to the comfort within the house as required.
The house features 3 bedrooms and 2 ½ bathrooms and can accommodate up to 3 couples comfortably. The main bedroom has a king size bed a single bed and private bathroom; the second bedroom has 2 queen beds and a single bed; the third bedroom has 2 single beds and shares a common main bathroom. Bathrooms have walk in showers, hair dryers, and separate toilet areas. Linens, towels and pool and beach towels are included. Bedrooms have air conditioning with remotes and TV’s with separate SKY satellite cable service.
Living room and two dining areas and counters for dining serving 4 or 6 people. Hallway writing desk and FREE Internet service, iron and ironing board.
A spacious kitchen with electric stove, oven, refrigerator, mini bar refrigerator, coffee machine, toaster, microwave, blender, dishes for 8, utensils and cookware, purified water to drink and cook and a large cooler to take to the beach or use next to the pool.
The wide roof extends some 8 feet over all sides of the house allowing for lots of shade and protection against the elements like rain and storms. The gardens with many trees surround the house and an enclosed screened terrace on one side of the house with music speakers and charge stations for devices, is ideal for entertaining and relaxing, it has also a half bathroom.
The outdoor garden is furnished with garden furniture, table with umbrella, loungers, attractive night lighting surrounding the house, a natural rock fountain with nighttime lighting too, night time outdoor fires if requested and a Weber charcoal grill. The garden have various fruit trees.
Smoking is permitted in the screened terrace area which is open to natural air flow. Not permitted inside the house or bedrooms.
In the garden behind the house is a casita or little house where permanent staff live year round for maintaining the gardens, and house.
It’s an ideal location for divers and those wanting a village atmosphere away from the crowds with privacy and serenity. Also great for nature lovers, meditation, exercising, yoga and relaxation. The house features a 12 by 18 foot ceramic tiled swimming pool, new outdoor private shower for after the beach, diving and before entering the pool, and a dip rinse tank and drying racks for divers and their scuba equipment; 2 cruiser bicycles are available for visiting and use in the village.
For divers staying at Cedral there are two options to choose to go diving. Most dive operators using small boats can do a wade out pick up service from Alberto’s Restaurant only two kilometers away in front of the road going to El Cedral. Please check with your dive operator. Most other dive operators with bigger boats operate from Caleta/Fonatur Marina area.
The road into El Cedral is less than two kilometers from the main coastal highway where there are many beach clubs and restaurants and close proximity to all the famous reefs such as Palancar and Columbia for diving on the south west side of the island.
