We absolutely LOVE the Casita! It is comfortable and cozy, and every spare inch of space is well thought-out and used very economically. Upon entering the house, we immediately felt at home and comfortable after our delayed arrival. Even though we arrived late, Jane met us at the gate and gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel right at home instantly.
The property is located on the northern side of the island, away from the busy tourist areas, and is an oasis of tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the central part of San Miguel. However, the central part of town is easily accessible via taxi (or car, if you chose to rent one) and you can easily get to anywhere you want within a few minutes.
The grounds of the property are beautiful and really make staying at the Casita a treat. The garden is spectacular and is a great place to watch hummingbirds feed, or even see a stray hermit crab crawling around, and to just relax. The white sand beach is just steps outside the back gate and is the perfect place to take in the sun, take a stroll or watch the incredible sunsets Cozumel is known for. The pool area is also a great place to relax, especially if you want to get out of the sun for a bit and cool off.
Bill and Jane are amazing hosts and went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable and memorable. They ensured we were well taken care of and that all of our needs were met and all of our questions answered. They are very friendly people and quite knowledgeable about the island, having been residents there for over 20 years. They have also put together an exhaustive guide to the island that will answer any questions you might have about Cozumel: everything from the best sights to see, their favorite restaurants, and even advice on renting a car and driving on the island. And if it's not in the guide, you can just ask them and they'll gladly provide you with any information you need.
We have been going to Cozumel for ten years, and this past trip was the best one we have taken. That was due in no small part to staying at the Casita and the warm hospitality of Bill and Jane. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a little bit of paradise on earth. Thank you so much Bill and Jane for letting us stay at the Casita and making us feel at home. We are looking forward to our next visit next winter and are counting the days!
