Grandpa's Cabin welcomes the whole crew, sleeps 12!

Located in Meridian Lake subdivision, on the edge of miles of wilderness. Only three miles each to the historic town of Crested Butte and to the Mt.Crested Butte ski area.
Rustic for sure, but in a spectacular setting...the views from this property are breathtaking...in the midst of single track riding, (the Upper Loop, Long Lake, the Lupine trail, 403, the Lower Loop, 401) and amazing 4-wheel drive roads (Paradise Divide, Schofield Park, the Slate River Road.) Bicycle all trails from the cabin. Please note, razors or side by sides and dirt bikes are not allowed on subdivision roads, nor are trailers allowed in the subdivision. Drones are forbidden in the subdivision.
Basically furnished, nice linens. Fireplace, grill. Grandpa built the Cabin so everyone could come and enjoy hiking, biking, and skiing. There are three queen bedrooms on the main floor, the master with an en suite bathroom, and a second full bath in the hallway. The loft sleeps six, in five single beds and one full, with an additional full bath.

Wedding Time!
We picked this cabin to stay at for the week of our daughter's wedding. It was wonderful! Plenty of room to spread out and relax with family. Close to town for shopping & eating. Fishing, hiking, star gazing & the occasional wild life visitors made it fun.

Nice cabin if you have a bunch of kids, not a bunch of adults.
Cabin fit the whole group as advertised and is in a nice location near Monarch/Long Lake. There is no bus service to town or ski area from this location, but hiking is within walking distance. The host was very nice and polite. The cabin is very well surface cleaned and bathroom and tubs were all clean. Years of dust and miscellaneous items exist under most furniture and on the loft floorboards due to lack of vacuuming harder to get areas. The view window on the main floor has a leak between window panes therefore is not clear. The wildflowers are pretty in bloom but are overgrown, so the basement floor steep steps are now basically the entry way, not the main floor.

Wintery wonderland
Stayed during a big winter storm. Wood burning fireplace was great, with a ton of wood available. Loft with many beds was nice for a family group. View is wonderful. Absolutely have to have 4wd or AWD in winter or getting back would have been impossible. Property manager was extremely responsive and helpful when unexpected issues arose. Listing is true- staircases very steep with open steps and shallow stair step- wouldn’t have stayed if mobility issues or if kids weren’t adequately supervised. Would ask them to make certain it is plowed regularly in winter, and far enough on driveway- we got stuck and needed towed because the plow had gone too far into the grass rather than the driveway for making a path- definitely would urge owners or property manager to put up poles before winter so plowing is appropriately done.

They weren't kidding about the stairs
The cabin and views were great! If you have a loved one with mobility issues, just know the inside stairs are steep and narrow and probably not useable for them, but the outside stairs were better and manageable. The beds were comfortable and linens were soft. The hummingbirds provided entertainment throughout the day. Loved the quiet neighborhood and will definitely check the availability of this cabin first if we return to CB!

Lovely cabin with beautiful views
My group had a lovely stay at Grandpa’s cabin. The property was a short drive (7min) from the CB ski resort. We enjoyed the magnificent south-facing views of Mount Crested Butte. The rooms were cozy and clean. It’s a terrific space for gathering with friends and family, especially in the dining area and by the fireplace.

Super easy checkin and quick responses from the owner. We asked if there was a crockpot there and the owner brought us a brand new one the next day. Greatly appreciated the special attention! The stairs inside are very narrow and steep which would be difficult for seniors or children as mentioned in the description but our group managed fine. Great for a big group!

Wonderful Cabin with Amazing Views!
Grandpa’s Cabin was perfect for our family vacation!! We had a party of 6 adults and had plenty of room for all. One of my favorite moments was, after a day of mountain bike riding and hiking, we cooked up a steak dinner and sat, by candlelight, at the dining room table with Mount Crested Butte as our backdrop. Doesn’t get any better than that!! The cabin was clean, had a wonderful rustic mountain vibe and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed! Loved the fact that we could mountain bike ride or hike right from the cabin! Susan, the property manager, was very helpful and responsive! We would love to stay at Grandpa’s Cabin again!
