Beautiful Dome Architecture

Unique, beautiful & Zen stylish quiet home with king size private 22' ft diameter bedroom; ensuite with 3x5' sunken tub with three walls of windows overlooking the beautiful mountains. Open plan dining & living rooms with click clack couch, small yard and wonderful views. 4 miles to town.

Architecturally elegant and unique design situated with beautiful views. This was a big home that has been duplex-ed and is about 1000 square feet. It was designed for privacy, so the entry door for the other home is on the opposite side of the house from where you enter. Very peaceful and quiet - the only house on the street. I call the area 'country suburbia' with houses peppered in the neighborhood about 1/4 mile away. While this home is open and not small - it provides a warm and intimate setting. Great for writers, retreats and romance with a big 3x5' sunken tub with three walls of windows and mirrors. If you have guests there is a futon couch in the living room with doors for privacy. (The yard is not totally secure for pet safety.) The sister dome is about 1200 square feet - and renting both sides is excellent for smallish events/retreats. There have been a few weddings held here. Location-location!! 4 miles to town.

There is wi-fi/internet access and a TV for watching DVD's. There is a selection of DVD's provided for your entertainment. Organic or all-natural bath wash, shampoo and conditioner, as well as a hair dryer are provided.

There is no formal check-in. I give you the combination for the door to arrive on your own timing. Check-in 3:30 pm and check-out 10:30am. I am open to meeting all my guests needs/questions. However, unless they come to me - I give them total space, peace and quiet! Checking out is simple. All you do is leave ! If you have any questions or problems - please call or text.

This rental is half of a duplex that has been built for privacy. There is an ascetically lovely wide paneled high wooden fence in the back yard. (At the time of this entry, the yard is not secure for pets safety. Please ask when booking if this is required by you.) As well, separate parking spots and entry doors are on opposite sides so that it's most likely you won't even see the other person. We have a lot of folks coming for meditation and designed our home for retreats, writers & romance.

Crestone this is a very remote area without public transportation so you do need a vehicle.

Crestone is one of the most beautiful places to be for hiking and spiritual adventures! There are many hikes with 14,000 ft peaks and for all levels. Also, the peaceful majestic beauty attracts folks from all over the world that come to attend one of the many retreats at the dozen or so spiritual centers. There is a small park and campground 1 block away. As well as horse riding/stables.

The small dome house was an ideal getaway for a quiet, relaxing experience. It was immaculate, and the setting is serene, ideal for anyone who needs to unwind and soak up the natural beauty of the mountains.

dome
There was a strong musty smell when first entering in the dome. Opening windows resolved most of it. Must be air tight construction. Quiet and had everything we needed for our stay. Did set off the smoke alarm with just making toast so was good to know it worked. Did not use the big soaking tub due to concern of water conservation. Enjoyed local sites of Sand Dunes, Zapata Falls and Sand Dune Recreation hot springs and pools. Local grocery store and diner in Crestone looked good but, did not have a chance to eat there (8am-2pm)

A cozy little dome!
My wife and I (and honestly, our two dogs, too!) LOVED our stay at this romantic little dome! It was everything we needed for three nights in Crestone, from a comfy bed to a cozy bath. We especially appreciated the privacy from the connected dome next door. Overall, a wonderful stay!

Weekend getaway
Stayed for a weekend (all you need for the sand dunes) and it was so peaceful. Watched the stars outside, saw so many shooting stars. The tub was nice, only downside was not many food options- but that’s how you know you’re in the middle of nowhere. Loved the dome, felt like we were in Star Wars.

ADORABLE Place.
Peaceful area. Adorable home! Has everything you need but an oven. Wonderful host. We left a bad VRBO in Moab a day early & she graciously let us stay an extra day here. If you like wildlife outside your door & Great Milky way views... stay here! Close to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Crestone is a very eclectic little town.

Very fun and unique! Lovely location in desert at foot of the Sangre Mtns. Lots of walking and steps to navigate this home, probably not for the physically challenged. Would come back! PS Don't miss a stop in Crestone!.

Undersold
I think the charm of this property is understated in advertised description. The bedroom and bath are by far the most luxurious we have encountered in a VRBO. The kitchen is small but adequate and the living room only misses a coffee table to be first rate. The views are great and the landscaping is a work in progress. We enjoyed our stay very much

My spouse and I had a very enjoyable stay with our two pups. Charming dome home was comfortable with well equipped kitchen and fabulous views. Clear crisp nights with sky full of stars. So quiet. Quick drive into center of Crestone. Wonderful walks with the dogs. Loved the huge tub with a view! Would definitely come back.

Beautiful & Unique Dome House
Great getaway to disconnect and easy day trip to the dunes. We loved the dome house. It was clean and had everything we needed. Really close to downtown Crestone. The pub downtown has excellent pizza! Make sure to bring bug spray if you’re going in summer/July. It’s mosquito season in that part of the state!

Quiet and peaceful
The house was nice and clean, stayed during the 4th of July with dogs who are scared of fireworks and we did not hear a single one. That was nice. However, the pics on line showed a grassy, fenced-in yard for the dogs but there was no grass and there were cacti and part of the fence was down so we had to keep the dogs on leash the whole time. That was really the only disappointing thing.

Ever stayed in a dome before?
We had a lovely time staying under the dome, which is especially well-suited for couples, although if you have kids, they can stay in the living room area comfortably. All of the furnishings are very comfortable, the kitchen has all the necessities, and the bathroom has plenty of space along with a luxurious tub. This is actually a duplex, this half being around the back, and the other half also gets rented out under a separate listing. The adjoining wall on this side is only along the kitchen wall off the living room, so you will have privacy in the rest of the house. The house sits at the very edge of the San Luis Valley, right next to the mountains, where the trees give way to the shrubs and dry plants of the valley. The yard is filled with fragrant plants (one of those smells that you wish you could just take with you), bringing you into nature as soon as you step outside. The nearest town is Crestone, which is a tiny little place with an unusual vibe. It's a good spot (and really, the only spot nearby) for grabbing a few light groceries or getting something to eat for dinner if you aren't out and about seeing the rest of the valley. The house is a good staging area for seeing the Great Sand Dunes, Zapata Falls, and the nearby hot springs/pools, if you don't mind a little bit of a drive to get to those places. Overall, we certainly recommend this dome if you're looking for a quiet and comfortable place to stay in the area!

Short trip to the sand dunes
We loved the adorable dome, and the huge tub was perfect! Gorgeous views. Love that the property is dog friendly. The only fault I could find is that it is a bit of a drive to the dunes. Totally my fault for not researching better, but very surprising when you can see the dunes for a good part of the drive!

Quiet with lots of open space
This place was quiet and had lovely views. The condition of the home was terrific. I appreciate that they use natural cleaning products without artificial scents or harsh chemicals. It restored our faith in renting from VRBO after a couple less than stellar experiences elsewhere. Hosts were in contact ahead of time to answer questions. The set up was functional and they've thought of many little things you might need. Showers are usually small in rentals though this one was bigger than most. The only addition that would be useful is to have a few hooks to hang bath towels. We hope to stay here again!

Absolutely wonderful
Whenever we reflect back on our time at the dome house, we will feel instantly relaxed with happy memories. It was so unique - very comfortable with plenty of space - but somehow also the coziest feeling! Everything we could need was provided for us. All we had to do was leave the world behind and start having fun as soon as we stepped in the door. And when we stepped back out to enjoy the little garden or one of the seating areas, I don't think the daytime or nighttime views could have possibly been better anywhere in the world. This was my favorite place I've ever stayed!

Crestone is a spiritual place with many retreat centers. It was lovely to stop over and enjoy the amazing views as well as the sunrise and sunset. This place is well stocked and comfortable. It provides a sense of the remote while still being near enough io stores and restaurants.
