About this property

Remodeled Farmhouse on 30 acres, enjoy the peacefulness of living on a farm

If you're looking for a simpler way of life nestled in the mountains, then Evvie's View is your perfect next get away. Renovated 1950s farmhouse, located on 30 acres, 8 miles from West Jefferson. Picturesque setting with vegetable garden and chickens. Magnificent views of Mount Jefferson from your front porch! Live like a local at this peaceful home and grounds that have been lovingly cared for by the same family since 1802. A stay at Evvie's View is the true Ashe county experience! Peaceful relaxing atmosphere but with all modern conveniences. Plenty of space to spread out and soak up all the mountains have to offer. The New River is at the end of the road, plenty of hiking opportunities. 30 acres and set off the quiet mountain road you can truly get away from it all and unwind, while still conveniently located. Original hardwood floors through out. The views from the porch can’t be overstated, many claim Evvie’s view is one of the best views of Mount Jefferson in the county.

Peaceful and quiet.
It was a short stay but would stay longer if the opportunity would arise. The chickens greeted us and they are beautiful. The place was very lovely and clean. Great place to visit. If you are from the city, you would enjoy the country.

Great little getaway
We stayed one night while we were in the area getting our annual Christmas tree. Location was just as described. Host was incredibly responsive. The views were out of this world - sunrise, sunset, deer everywhere. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect!
The house was exactly what we needed for a good night's rest prior to a long, challenging cycling event!

Lovely farmhouse in an ideal setting!
This cute farmhouse had everything we needed for our quick overnight. This property is about 15 minutes from downtown West Jefferson, on a farm, with chickens and gardens and flowers with butterflies! It is beautiful! And the night sky is gorgeous and starry with no light pollution! The hosts left fresh eggs and beautiful organic veggies for us to try and they had lots of other farm products available to us also. The farmhouse has loads of "antique" charm from an old wood stove in the kitchen to a large, old-timey console record player in the living room. The hosts have thought of everything to make the farmhouse special! One minor note is that the a/c is a portable in the living room so the bedrooms do get a little stuffy if the doors are closed but, other than that, the farmhouse was the perfect place to spend the night in the Jefferson/West Jefferson area! Thank you for sharing Evvie's View with us!!

A gem of a property!
A great little home on a beautiful 30-acre property...with chickens you can play with and fresh eggs for breakfast! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Katie's home. She was very responsive and even came to the house to let the chickens out, so that our 5 and 7-year-old boys could meet them! Not that it's a big deal, as typically this area is cool at night (was abnormally hot out for our stay), but there is no central AC, just an external floor unit that keeps the living room nice and cool and can somewhat cool down the bedrooms if the doors are open. A great place to stay and explore the area. So much to do nearby.
